Having crossed the dark side of 50, I’ll go with the pragmatic answer of “survive.”

I would like to write for 35 years.

I have written articles and fiction for 35 years +.
I have been shooting one kind of match or another and hunting for 35 years + too.
I plan to keep on doing all of them.

Even at a young, fresh and naive 38, I too will go with “survive.”

I was looking forward to listening to great country music for 35 straight years on the radio! Things were progressing nicely until the mid 1990′s when “BJ” Bill Clinton deregulated the radio broadcasting industry…
I would like to see marxist, liberal, democrat vermin like Oscumbo evicted from Washington DC for at least the next 35 years! Does that count? Hmm…

I’d like to say that I’d be picking and grinning on my front porch for the next 35 years or longer.

I would settle for writing 10 songs a year that I was proud to call mine…for the next 35 years.
Of course, that means writing 10-20 times that much.
But since I love the whole sweet agony of writing most of all, that doesn’t bother me.
Since I’ve already had a headstart on loving my husband, I’d only settle for 70 years together…so 10 songs a year is my x35 goal.

Only someone with the self-awareness level of Rick could argue against deregulation in one sentence, then in literally the very next sentence denounce someone as a “Marxist.”

The mandolin player/tenor singer on the video is Paul Kramer, who’s worked with Travis Tritt, Suzy Bogguss, Jason Aldean, Sammy Kershaw and others; the guitar player/lead singer is my bandmate, Chris Jones. Rick, you’ll be happy to know that Paul put together a wonderful project called The Bloggrass Boys back in 2008 – both Chris and I participated, as did Ms. Bogguss, Jonelle Mosser and sundry other country and bluegrass luminaries – to raise money for the Obama campaign. For more info see http://www.myspace.com/thebloggrassboys .
By the way, there are plenty of videos on YouTube featuring more recent editions of the band…

My goal for the next 35 years is to finally figure out what I wanna do in life and pursue it wholeheartedly, while spending every free moment with my daughter, friends, and family.

For 35 years I’d like to be married and telling as many others as possible about my Lord Jesus Christ and what He has done!
Congratulations on 35 years and it was great hearing y’all at Silver Dollar City in Branson. Rick Faris makes a great addition to the group, even if his jokes are corny, his picking will always be tops. :)
