Win an iPod Shuffle, Courtesy of Whitney Duncan
With the recent release of her digital EP (Right Road Now) and a 2010 album on the horizon, Warner Bros. up-and-comer Whitney Duncan’s future is looking at bright as her buoyant personality. The 9513 has teamed up with Whitney and her team to help celebrate the release of the singer’s current single “Skinny Dippin’” by offering an awesome prize pack valued at approximately $100.
“Country music was always her first love. She begged to go to the famed Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge in downtown Nashville and managed to get up on stage and play when she was barely a teenager. She began traveling to and from Nashville from her home in Scotts Hill, Tennessee, in high school, writing with some of Nashville’s best writers. By her senior year, she had landed a record deal. Almost immediately, Duncan landed a duet with country legend Kenny Rogers, but the first big record release still eluded her. In the meantime, she’d write and co-write cuts for Lee Ann Womack, Katie Arminger and Crystal Shawanda.” (Read The 9513’s exclusive interview with Whitney.)
Courtesy of Warner Bros. Nashville, we have one brand new iPod Shuffle to give away via Twitter. You have until 11:59 PM EST on Friday, October 30th, to enter. Just follow The 9513 on twitter and re-tweet the following message:

I went swimming and my swimming trunks came down in the water. Does that count?

I’m kind of a skinny guy and I’ve gone swimming before.

I’ve been skinny dipping before but there’s not much of a story. Bunch of friends by the creek, got naked, went swimming. It just wasn’t that much of a “story.”

Quite the opposite, Andrew.
I’m more of a chunky-dunk kinda guy.

This is confusing. Are there two giveaways, or one? What does “Courtesy of Warner Bros. Nashville, we one brand…” mean? Why is grass green? Does Kermit think Fozzie was trying to steal his gal?
I didn’t enter the hottub nekkid, I didn’t leave it nekkid. No one knew I was nekkid. But thankfully no one turned the bubbles off. Oh yes, this was at work. (Pool/Summer/etc)

Well, being the conservative prude I am I waited until one of the natural hot springs tubs out in Saline Valley, CA (now part of Death Valley National Park) was deserted and went over in my swim trunks. After a short while a middle aged male and female couple of hippie nudists types dropped in to join me! It made me very uncomfortable and I had to excuse myself soon afterward! Talk about an awkward social situation, Sheesh! That’s about as close as I’ll ever get to skinny dipping with others present. (lol)
One of my favorite indie films is the 2002 release “The Last Place on Earth” where the two main characters spend a lot of time visiting scenic highlights along California’s Hwy 395. In one scene the male lead character has sort of a reverse version of my experience in the hot springs near the resort town of Mammoth! Fun stuff.

I went skinny dipping years ago. Was alot of fun, well except for the part that the whole time I was worried about any fish getting close to me. It was at a lake late at night of course. I was with my then boyfriend and it was a dare. Pretty fun to act crazy sometimes. I would never do it in the middle of the day unless I had a pool at home with lots of privacy.

I went skinny dipping in the Rio Grande while in college. It was a good thing we were all drunk, because that river isn’t really meant for swimming in.

My neighbors all went skinny dipping one friday night in the community pool. My husband and I were out of town but we heard about it. One neighbor who did not go, looked out her window and saw all the neighbors skinny dipping and called the police. They were all handcuffed as they got out of the pool in the nude and arrested. They were later let go since one of the arrested was a lawyer!

I’ve never went skinny dipping but I just watched an Episode of Smallville called Slumber and Clark Kent and Lana Lang did go skinny dipping but we find out that he was asleep for 36 hours so he dreamed it. At the end of the episode they went to the same lake (albeit it was empty) and he implied something about skinny dipping saying ” I don’t think we should be skinny dipping” and Lana said “in your dreams clark”
I wish I had a real story of skinny dipping but I’m sure most of these stories were made up just to get a chance to win an iPod shuffle

My skinny dipping story happened late this past summer. You see, I would go contra dancing with my friends almost every Monday in a tiny little town called Nelson. (They actually have the longest-running contra dance in America – over 200 years!)
One evening it was particularly hot, and when the dance finished we went to the pond down the road for a quick swim to cool off.
We start wading in the water, and all of a sudden one of my friends goes, “We should be skinny dipping! It’s too damn hot to be wearing anything!”
A chorus of “Hell yeah!” follows, and we tossed our clothes on the sand and dove into the water for a fantastic midnight skinny dip!!
I still look back now and then fondly on my first time skinny dipping! :)

I have a great story (this is not about me). When my brother was in high school, he and his friend and the sleezy girl in school went to the lake. She took off her clothes to go skinny dipping and he and his friend pretended they were going to but didn’t. They took her clothes and drove off. It was really mean. They did it to teach her a lesson though.
They eventually did go back and give her back her clothes.

The place was empty when we got there and we swam for about an hour.
Then we were spotlighted by a police officer who was nice enough to just ask us to leave.
I guess he figured that our embarrassment of being caught skinny dipping was enough punishment.

I must be the weird one here, I’ve been skinny dipping many times. :) but my most memorable one was when me and 3 other friends (all guys, I’m a girl & always considered one of the guys) were hanging out riding bikes and having a great time and it was hot. you know that heat that if you dropped water on the road it would sizzle? well, we were all dying from this heat, all sweaty and looking like drowned rats. we were on our way home for the night, it must have been around 11 pm, and were right by this awesome house with a built in pool. no lights, no one home. and one of the guys jokingly says, hey lets go for a swim. well being 14 and wild as we were, we jumped the fence and shimmied out of our clothes and jumped in. It ended up very funny cause that was when one of the boys finally realized I was a girl. He looked bug-eyed at me and said “oh wow, you got boobs”. I turned beet red and ducked under the water. I was so embarrassed. needless to say, I was the last to get out of the water, and our friendship changed after that. :)

When I was a preteen (not sure how old exactly) Me and my best friend decided we were going to sneak out and go skinny dipping in her pool. We were laughing and giggling and must have gotten really loud her dad comes out side and starts yelling at us. We freak out and grab our towels and jump out and started running around the neighborhood. We finally went back and her father had already went back to bed. He never mentioned it, I am not sure if he was trying to save us the embarrassment or if he didn’t realize it was us. I have never been skinny dipping again though.

I went skinny dipping by accident. I had to go swimming even though I didn’t have a suit on my vacation. There was no way to get out of it, so my friend who I was visiting found a Halloween costume body suit thing that I thought I could fake as a swimming suit. It went ok until I got completely under the water and came sagged down a (lot) low.

There’s an event called the Looney Dook in Edinburgh, where participants run into the sea on the 1st of January for a swim. Some of the students in Aberdeen decided that they’d do the same… naked. Bear in mind that Aberdeen’s average temperature in January is about 30F, I still think he’s insane!

No, I’ve never been skinny dipping. I considered it, on my husband’s 40th birthday. We’d rented a cabin on a remote lake in Canada, 70 miles from the nearest human being. No roads, you had to fly in. No reason not to swim with your clothes off, but… I couldn’t stop thinking about leeches. :-p We did lie on the dock and watch the aurora borealis in the nude, but I didn’t touch the water.

I’ve been…it’s pretty great, but after the first time, it loses the excitement. Your skin feels great afterwards too!

When I was very young, 5 or 6 years old. In my grandparents pool with a high privacy/security fence. Not a very exciting story!

Oh yes, and I got caught by the “police”. I was 17 and we went camping, it was about 11:30 and we decided to go skinny dipping. When we got to the beach there were other people there, so we got in with our clothes on and took them off in the water. It was dark they couldn’t see, we thought we were good! Wrong!! 10 minutes in, the lake patrol came, and made everyone get out. We had to walk out of the water completely naked in front of the lake patrol and the other people. I was mortified already. Then when I get in better light, I found out the other people were friends from school!!! Monday came, and everyone knew!

No, I have never really been skinny dipping. My husband and I have spent some naked time in a hot tub in the woods, but I don’t think that really qualifies!
November 3, 2009 at 1:21 pm Permalink
It’s been a long time, but yes, I’ve been skinny dipping several times. The best times were in Blue River.
As we get older, I have friend who doesn’t call it ’skinny dipping’ any more — it’s ‘chunky dunking’!

I have a “didn’t go skinny dipping” story. My girlfriend and I in college went to a pool party with a bunch of people we didn’t know very well. All of a sudden, surprisingly for us, everyone started taking their clothes off and getting in the pool. We took one look at each other and got out of there!! Thanks.
November 3, 2009 at 1:51 pm Permalink
I never went skinny dipping myself but I went to a spa to relax and people were getting into the pool without their suits. It just didn’t seem right with all those people in the pool so I and my bathing suit got out.

I never went skinny dipping before. I was much too shy when I was younger but probably would now. When I was in my teens some kids went skinny dipping and was talking about it like they were really cool.

Last time I was skinny dipping was at the Northernaire Resort in Eagle River, WI this past spring. There was only 2 other couples staying in the entire resort so after they were done swimming, the wife and I enjoyed the indoor pool and the outdoor hot tub Au Natural. Great times!

“…last time was last year” – frequency seems to be totally overrated.

I’ve never been skinny dipping before. But I’ve had friends do it. I’ve never heard any funny stories but I’ve heard stories of pictures being taken and then shown around to people so that was always a really good example of why not to go skinny dipping!

I have never been skinny dipping but would in a heart beat. I’ve learned how to be comfortable with my body so not afraid of others around
