So she's perpetuating the blonde stereotype on a full-time basis as a comedy routine? That just might be the most genius marketing spin/PC speak I've ever heard...

acting stupid isn't funny. why is that funny? where in the world has she said she's a 'comedienne'?

but being ignorant is no shame. being stupid, however, is a shame. and pretending that 10 million people watching her is somehow validation is truly delusional. i like her music just fine, but find no reason to excuse her...well, stupidity. it's pitiful and it's really nothing to laugh about or excuse.

Kellie is a comedienne. If she wants to make comedy out of certain stereotypes that people might label her than why shouldn't she. Isn't that what comediennes do? I find Kellie's wit quite funny and charming at the same time. Seeing how over 10 million people tuned in to watch Kellie, giving this show its highest ratings in history, it seems I'm not alone. But then I guess most people in America have a sense of humor unlike some of you....

oh, she wants people to think it's an act. that way, she can be stupid and still be thought of as...well, not stupid.

besides, if she's acting, why doesn't she just be a good role model and act SMART? you know, have a little knowledge about the world around you, about other countries, about...well, anything. if it's so easy and obvious to act stupid, why not do the right thing and act SMART?

i don't even think musicians or celebrities should necessarily be good role models--i just think holding your ignorance or sheer stupidity up as a beacon is unacceptable. she is an adult and should know better, for God's sake.

Oh my Buddha - that Kelli Pickler clip is horrible. "I thought Europe was a country." This isn't a lack of knowledge, which happens to some smart people with limited backgrounds and education. I am sure we all know a few people who are smart but don't know lots of facts. But here she is in front of a huge audience and she says some really dumb things. Even those of modest intelligence have learned to cover their tracks by her age. It's not a demonstration of innocence to reveal how uninformed and dumb we are. It's just dumb.

That's one of my criticisms about some parts of country music. There are artists who wear their ignorance and even their lack of intelligence like a medal. That's just wrong. Education is important. Same goes for that tired subgenre of songs about men and women who are sad about losing a romantic interest because of bad behavior. Don't whine about it after the fact, just change and be a better person. Stop acting like you are fifteen.

Ok, rant over. Sorry to say it but she seems to want us to know; Kelli Pickler is dumb as a box of rocks.

I gotta agree with you, Peter, on country not being the most motivating music, even though it's pretty much all I listen to. A couple of the songs Pierce mentioned are decent motivators, though.

i don't think it matters if kellie pickler is acting. if she's not acting, she needs help. if she IS acting, she ought to be ashamed of herself for trying to make stupid look funny. stupid is not funny. clueless is not funny. she can sing and she looks good, but when those go, what will be left? stupid won't pick up the slack. big jugs will only last so long.

I watched Kellie Pickler when she was on the "Smarter Than a 5th Grader" program and if its an act, then she is awfully good at it! I personally think she really is that ditzy and just didn't pay much attention to her teachers or homework while in school. Many of the beauties cast each season on the TV program "Beauty and the Geek" display a similar lack of general knowledge, so Kellie is not alone. Fortunately Kellie's brain is definitely tuned into country music and she can croon traditional country with the best of them when turned loose. Kellie may not be the brightest bulb intellectually, but she seems like a really sweet gal with a lot of real country vocal talent.

I was always big on James Brown and Public Enemy during my workouts. "Mother Popcorn" and "Brothers Gonna work it Out" just do it better for me than country when it comes to workouts.

But as far as country is concerned, maybe "Fast as You" by Dwight Yoakam or something ballsy and aggressive like that.
