Trent Summar Compared To A Blond Elvis And The Associated Press Reviews Last of The Breed

  • Ed Crowell over a Austin360 seems to like what he hears and sees in Trent Summar.

Images of a blond Elvis in his Louisiana Hayride days, legs spread wide and a red jacket flapping before going down on his knees and shaking off his straw cowboy hat.

  • Jonni Jewell posted mucho pictures of the KHYI Texas Music Revolution 11 at Southfork Ranch. Some of the artists include: Sunny Sweeney, Lost Immigrants, Hayes Carll, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Eleven Hundred Springs, and Rodney Crowell.
  • The Associated Press has a review of the Last of the Breed album.
  • GAC has a fantastic review of George Jones at the Opry. It sounds like he put on quite a show. Also, check out what our very own, Matt C., had to say about the show.
  • After you’ve checked out GAC, go stop by USA Today, Reuters, and Austin360. Exciting stuff.
  • And lastly, Willie Nelson appeared on the Colbert Report last night to settle the dispute about who has the better ice cream.

Be sure to check out the video before the interview that outlines the controversy, and then the performance of “On The Road Again” by Willie, Stephen Colbert, and Ambassador Richard Holbrooke.

Thanks for posting that you-tube segment of Willie! I had to watch the show twice last night, I thought it was so good. Stephen Colbert and Ambassador Holbrook singing on the Road Again. I liked that Holbrook improvised and said, “What I love is making Peace with my friends.” He and Willie are like-minded in that.

The whole video cracked me up. Most of it appears to be staged, but Willie’s laughter sounded pretty genuine to me.
