Wayman was a great big lovable teddy bear, his smile was infectious. Everytime I hear this song I have tears of sadness and joy as I think of the people I've lost. Truly a great song that touches to the core of so many people's heart. It is a very brave thing to actually voice the personal feeling that as much as you grieve for the person who is gone you are grieving more that you don't have that person in your life anymore and you feel more sorry for yourself. It is a feeling that most of us feel but hardly anyone admits. I think it is a beautiful song and there are NO problems with it. Knowing how it is to lose someone you love, I think it is amazing to hear a song that expresses the REAL way most of us feel after a loss like that. This was written only MONTHS after the loss of Wayman...MONTHS! I lost my husband 4 YEARS ago and my granddaughter 7 YEARS ago & this song STILL expresses the way I feel after YEARS. This song is the most Wonderful song I have ever heard and describes so perfectly the feeling of losing someone SO Close and Dear to your Heart. I liked Toby's music more when he first started, but to hear him bare his heart and soul to the world for everyone to hear has really changed my mind. I had a voice messsage saved on my cellphn from my husband for 2 years,I listened to it over & over just to hear his voice because it made him still feel SO close. When cellphones had to be upgraded for the GPS tracking the company swore that everything would download to my new phone... they were wrong. I can't even put into words how my heart broke even more and how much that sales person regreted promising I wouldn't lose the message,I felt I lost him twice. Thank You to All who have also expressed their hearts on here. But to Amber and more recently to Eddie...Thank You both from the bottom of My Heart because you truly expressed the feelings SO Beautifully. To Eddie, you have a gift, your poem is SO touching, I can't imagine how you could have gotten the words out at your friends funeral, you are Much stronger than I could have been. My husband lost his dad in Nov. 2008 to throat cancer[as well as my children and my grandchildren losing their 'Papaw'], then I lost my dad on Sept. 22, 2009 to lung cancer! And now my mom has pre-cancer cells and I'm very afraid of losing her to cancer as well, so this song really hits home!! I'm thinking of getting her to watch and listen to the words, so she'll stop thinking that her family doesn't feel sorry for her- that we're cryin' for me'![My husband also lost an uncle suddenly in the fall of 2009, and also lost a brother-in-law not much longer after that] I saw the ACM awards tonight[04/18/2010]and Toby sang that song and the cameras showed Wayman's family in the audience crying and I couldn't help but cry too for their loss as well as my loss! As always a great song by Toby, just like "The Red, White and Blue"[Angry American], people were also quick to down that song but Toby was just being honest about his feelings!
