  • Despite the bad luck George Jones has endured this past year (pneumonia and a fractured wrist), he has set a full tour schedule for 2007. His October release God’s Country, includes an all-star line up performing many of George’s classic numbers. Performers on this album are: George Jones himself, Garth Brooks, Sammy Kershaw, Pam Tillis, Tanya Tucker, Joe Diffie, Shonna Faegan, Vince Gill, Mark Chesnutt, and Tracy Lawrence.
  • The Tumbleweed, a dance and concert hall in Stillwater, Oklahoma, will officially close in December. It has operated for twenty-five years, and has a history of more than 400 concerts. Garth Brooks once worked as a bouncer in the venue, and the list of artists who have performed there include: Hank Williams Jr., Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Travis Tritt, Keith Whitley, George Jones, and Chris Ledoux. On Saturday, December 2, Lee Ann Womack, Cross Canadian Ragweed’s Cody Canada, Stoney LaRue, and Wade Bowen will make a stop there before it closes. The final weeked will feature Jason Boland on December 30 and No Justice on the 31st.
  • According to CountryNation.com, Lee Ann Womack will tour through her homestate of Texas during the first week of December. Joining her will be Cross Canadian Ragweed’s Cody Canada, Stoney LaRue, and Wade Bowen. The tour is nicknamed “3 Men & Little Crazy.”
  • Tomorrow night, Lorrie Morgan will serve as the Grand Marshall in the 54th Annual Nashville Gas Christmas Tour. It is scheduled to start at 7pm. The parade will begin at 7th and Broadway, and head east to 2nd Avenue, cross over the Woodland Street Bridge, and end at LP Field.
  • Rural Rhythm Records announces they have signed an exclusive recording contract with Randy Kohrs. Old Photograph, Randy’s fourth solo album, will hit shelves in Spring 2007. The first single, “Rockwell’s Gold”, will be released in January.
