re the bear from the fair. in the old days dancing bears, hairy women or big guys called “nestor”, who could lift heavy weights were popular/must see fairground attractions. it’s just an old fashioned way of saying - i saw the main thing/attraction. the bear just rhymes nicer with fair than “hairy woman” or 5000 wolves.

Please, PLEASE someone call Nancy O’Dell!!! I enjoyed Billy Ray’s music (including ‘Achy Breaky’ - ‘So Miserable Without You’ was even better), but I’ve always had a hard time getting over his blatant thumbing of the industry and the fans at the CMAs that year (whatever year that was), and that has forever overshadowed my opinion of him and his personality. That said, I think NS has been on a downward spiral for a while, anyway - but I always watch, ever hopeful that ‘This year will be the year it gets good again’ (don’t ask me how long I played that game with ER)…

I just realized my first two posts on this site are fairly negative - my apologies; that is not my way, normally, and I think the site is great!!

I may be wrong, but I don’t see where BRC is a good speaker! I watched him on Dancing with the Stars and sometimes I got embarrassed for him for the “goofy” things he said and the way he acted! I guess I can’t get passed that Achy Breaky Heart thing! Since they tell him what to say, maybe he will be Ok!

Glad to see Billy Ray Cyrus being the host, I think he is pretty like able and genuine which is something the show really has never had. Jewel was very awkward and non country like up on stage.

Agreed about the forgein labels. Doc Walker is a popular Canadian Country music band, but on Amazon.com you have to pay $30 for the import of their latest CD.
