I have never heard that story before, that is so interesting. Oh, I would love to have a copy of that 'Thank you Mr. President' album. I always wondered how country music fans became associated with conservatives/Republicans. For so long the Democrats have been the farmer/labor party, and were champions of the working class and poor. It seems like the musicians, if not the fans, are across the board with respect to who they support. I have such a hard time with the us and them side of politics, and all the meanness.
