Terrence Howard to Play Charley Pride in Upcoming Film
In the world of news this is ancient history, but for those of you who don’t read the AP newswire religiously, you might have missed the tidbit about Terrence Howard playing Charley Pride in the upcoming biopic of the singer’s life. IMDb has the movie slated for sometime in 2008, but doesn’t give any specifics. Following in the footsteps of Joaquin Phoenix, Howard will be singing all the songs and playing the guitar himself. And like Walk the Line, the movie will revolve around Pride’s relationship.
One of Charely Pride’s most famous number one hits is “Kiss An Angel Good Mornin’”. If you haven’t heard Charley Pride, you haven’t heard country music. If you like old school country, go to iTunes and purchase some of his songs, you won’t be disappointed.

We've labored long and hard to come up with our list of the Top 10 Country Albums of 2008. Click here to see who claimed the honor of the year's top album, as chosen by The 9513's staff and writers.
Don’t confuse disappointing with worst, as that list would most likely be dominated by obscure indie knockoff bands along with a couple of mainstream releases. There has to be a modicum of expectation that’s dashed upon the release of an album for it to qualify for the year’s most disappointing.
Join host Kelly Dearmore as he shines the light on several noteworthy album releases you might have missed and interviews various artists, from Sarah Borges to Trent Willmon and Reckless Kelly to Wade Bowen, in the first two episode of The 9513 podcast.

Charley Pride is a great singer. I always liked his version of “Roll On Mississippi.” Also I think Alan Jackson does a great job covering “Kiss An Angel Good Morning,” on his “Under the Influence” CD.
