Taylor Swift, The New Darling Of Country Music And Nicole Kidman Wants A Baby
- Dierks Bentley’s current Top 20 single, “Long Trip Alone” was inspired by being away from his wife Cassidy on his long tour trips. She has gone on a couple of tours with him and now understands why he wants to stay plastered to the couch when he gets home. If only I had a believable excuse to tell my girlfriend for staying plastered to the couch then I’d be set.
“The song started off about her, and about trying to reconnect,” he tells Dial-Globe, “but then it kind of took on the meaning of just all the people that you have in your life. Without them it would be a very long trip on down here on Earth. But by the end of the song, it really became more of a prayer, and that’s the way I hear it now. You’ll hear it one way, but then if you keep listening to it, the meaning of the song is bigger than you may have initially perceived.”
- If you believe this article from CMT, then Taylor Swift is the new darling of country music. As for me, it’s going to take a little more convincing than a gold album.
- Nicole Kidman hopes to have a baby with Keith Urban. Babies and divorces seem to be the current trends in Nashville.
- American Idol alumni Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler along with Martina McBride are scheduled to perform on the AI stage sometime this season. Martina McBride is also scheduled to be one of the nine celebrity coaches for the show.
- Visit Country Universe and participate in the discussion based off of Loretta Lynn’s comments about current country singers: “A lot of ‘em don’t have the songs. When I started, you had to have the song. It didn’t matter how good you sang it; it was the song.”

Great, Martina as a guest judge.
“That was good, but you really needed to belt it out.”
“I love the tone of your voice, but why didn’t you go for the big note in the chorus?”
“I don’t hear any strain on your vocal chords. Where’s your commitment?”
“You have to sell the song with your vocal. If you don’t get loud, people won’t understand the importance of what you’re singing about!”

Kevin, you’re so witty and clever, with your biting sarcasm…feels good to rip Martina, huh? I can tell you’re a big man…by the way, is that YOUR talent? Good luck with that. Good for you.
