The final round of nominees for the 2009 CMT Music Awards has been announced and voting is open. Sugarland leads with five nominations while Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift follow with four each.

Stephen Bruton, Longtime Guitarist for Kris Kristofferson, Succumbed to Throat Cancer
Guitarist, producer and songwriter Stephen Bruton, who played with Kris Kristofferson for 17 years, lost the battle to throat cancer over the weekend. He was 60.

ACM Awards Received a 78 Percent Bump Over Previous Year
With an average of 14.8 million viewers, the ACM Awards saw a 78 percent increase over last year.
