I think that was a comment on the actual news.

It was more a comment on the quantity of actual news, I guess.

    Wow, slow news day. :)

Jamey Johnson rulez. I even got some of my music snob budz over at Altcountrytab.ca interested in this dude.

Good call on adding the David Rogers audio. It’s nice to be able to read about him and listen to him all in the same place. I’m definitely more interested now.

It’s the weirdest thing to finish writing something before I pass out at night and wake up to find it on The 9513 (even if it is on a slow news day). Thanks for the plug… it’s always appreciated.

I think that the chatter around the slow news day has made it not as slow…..

An interesting point about Women and the country music hall of fame. Something I have always thought was lacking. However, if you look back in the grand scheme of country music, men have generally dominated the industry, so it’s understandable. I think Reba should be getting close to be letting in. Also, not sure but are Lorreta, Tammy, or Barbara Mandrell in the Hall of Fame?

    Greg,

Loretta and Tammy are members of the Hall of Fame. Emmylou Harris of course was inducted this year. I would expect Barbara Mandrell and Reba to follow in the next 2-4 years.

I’ve been to ARCO several times and have never seen them put big screens up. At least the artists, like Garth and Dolly, make it seem like you’re right in the middle of the action :-)

It looks like Jamey is growing his hair longer (all the way around). He visited WSIX and you can watch the videos with several songs performed live:

There are some funny stories on the video.

The only thing missing on Jamey’s new album is “Leave You Alone.” It’s still a great piece of work with what is on there. He’s going to have a live chat on his website at 7PM tonight. It will be interesting to hear his take on songs from the album.

Hopefully every addition to the “Forgotten Artist” series will now include audio links so we can hear what we’ve been missing! Thanks for adding those….

I always enjoy it when Laura Cantrell gets on her soapbox about the lack of respect paid to women (in an overall sense) throughout the history of country music. Let’s face it that men have traditionally held most of the positions of power in the country music industry and its been a “good old boys club”. I’m glad that Laura is so passionate about this issue.

Jamey Johnson has a short interview segment on GAC’s “On The Streets” episode this week and he really seemed to be enjoying himself. (They even had a short interview with Carrie Rodriguez where Carrie and Suzanne Alexander were discussing Lucinda Williams. Suzanne is a closet Americana fan! lol)
