Shelby Lynne Giveaway: Just A Little Lovin’

Not intent on simply covering Dusty Springfield, Shelby Lynne takes a stab at reinterpreting select songs of the late singer’s material and making it her own on her most recent record, Just A Little Lovin’, out on Lost Highway today. What you’ll find are a handful of beautifully desolate songs that sound nothing like the originals. Whether you’ll enjoy the sparsity of the arrangements is dependent on the preferences of your own palate, but one thing is certain, Phil Ramone will never be accused of overproducing Just A little Lovin’.
We have three copies to give away, if you’d like one leave a comment below with a valid email address and we’ll enter you into the drawing. Winners will be randomly chosen and announced on Friday.

Just a rules clarification, since there seems to be a little confusion–it’s a random drawing–NOT the first three commenters. Everyone who leaves a comment in this thread will be eligible to win.

Count me in. The tragic murder suicide of Shelby’s parents when she was a teenager inflicted emotional scars that Shelby has always tried to heal through her music. The sorrow in her eyes and voice have always lent itself better to some of the forms of music she’s experimented with than others, and it really seems to work this go round. Her sister Allison Moorer has found happiness as the current wife of Steve Earle and its now Shelby’s turn to experience some affirmation and commercial success beyond her previous achievements.
