I got that McClinton album last week on Amazon as their Daily deal. I don’t remember how much it was then, but it was a great price, under $4.00.

The Hot Club of Cowtown album is fun and I’m off to buy the Lauderdale album now. Good week for releases.

So today is the Hot Club official release date! Finally. I just ordered one online this morning and will be waiting anxiously for awhile since its coming “media mail”. (lol) The Austin reviewer incorrectly assumes “Reunion” may have something to do with a former band mate but it does not. It was inspired by a high school reunion Elana attended in 2008. Also, the instrumental song “Heart of Romain” pays homage to Elana’s favorite heart throb French actor Romain Duris and not a variety of lettuce.
I enjoyed that year old interview with Ketch Secor even if he does have a potty mouth. Not surprising what with him praising Pete Seeger and referring to the “Bush regime”. Ketch has been added to my list of dyed in the wool Obamavoter music artists to ignore from now on…

It’s unfortunate that Mindy Smith has to sing Jolene when she is such a first rate artist/writer. Jolene is a great song, covered too many times, but would love to see her do something of her own.
Speaking of Jolene, talk about a forgotten great band from the nineties.

Just an FYI, Easton Corbin also put out a 4 song EP this week. I really like what I have heard so far, really nice voice, a new-traditional Country sound and solid songs thus far.

The Dolly boxed set that was released in the UK last year had a more interesting track listing than this new one.
