I think I’m in love with Laura Cantrell! (lol) I love the passion that gal has for the pioneering women of country music and its rich history. Laura needs to move back to Nashville and “become” the next Kitty Wells…….
I guess Jewel wanted to show off her “Dolly”……..

Time for a quick “Rick’s Random Tidbits!”:
Here’s a Denver country station that recognizes the inherent nature of Airhead Country: (From AllAboutCountry)
“92.5 FM “The Jackass” Debuts In Denver To Welcome The Democratic National Convention To Town.
The Democratic National Convention begins in Denver Monday (8/25), and on that day, KWLI-92.5 The Wolf/Denver becomes 92.5 The Jackass.
“We want to be the first Denver business to officially welcome the DNC to town” said Don Howe, VP/Market Manager and Chief Jackass for CBS/Denver. “We looked at 92.5 The Donkey and 92.5 The Mule but Jackass just seems to fit us better (and the DNC as well..)”
Wolf PD Bill Gamble, becomes chief mule trainer says, “We’ll continue to “bray” the best(?) new country music with less talk.” “We hope to “burro” the competition and other slow moving pack animals with this move.” (lol)
And for you Florida residents: (Also from AllAboutCountry)
” 1st Annual Amelia Island Songwriter Festival Set
Next Wednesday Thru Sunday In Florida!
Some of Nashville’s best songwriters will descend on Amelia Island, FL next Wednesday thru Sunday (8/27-31) for the First Annual Amelia Island Songwriter’s Festival. The five-day festival includes performances by many of Music City’s hottest songwriters, along with seminars, workshops, and songwriting competitions as well.
(Here’s the best part:) Performances from artists Shelly Fairchild, Jon Randall, Jesse Alexander and CMT Can You Duet standouts The Coppolas (Kate and Kasey) will also be happening at various venues around the island.”
