Randy Rogers Band Giveaway: Randy Rogers Band

Randy Rogers Band

The Randy Rogers Band built its audience by combining forces: It’s a dynamic live act centered around songs that fit the rowdy, party vibe of the concert circuit, but their songs also say something.

That’s particularly true in the new album, The Randy Rogers Band, in which a dozen persuasive tracks give the listener plenty of reasons to want to down a celebratory brewski. But the songs also maintain a depth that makes them powerful and provocative even beyond their edgy arrangements and tough-guy sound.

The Randy Rogers Band further distinguishes that identity in its self-titled album, the band’s second release since signing with Mercury Nashville. Produced by longtime admirer Radney Foster, sessions for The Randy Rogers Band took place at Dockside Studios, a bayou location in Maurice, Louisiana.

Randy’s voice is my favorite because he sings with such genuine emotion and my favorite song is “In My Arms Instead.”

I’ve been a huge fan of RRB for several years now. I can’t pick a favorite song; there’s no way! “One More Goodbye,” “Kiss Me in the Dark,” “If I Told You the Truth,” and “Tonight’s Not the Night” are all good ones.

I’ve seen them live many times all around in Texas and am looking forward to the next show and much anticipated self-titled record!

RRB is great because their fiddle player acts like he’s had 10 Redbulls before he goes out on stage!

In all seriousness though, Randy is a really nice, intelligent and talented guy. While his album “Rollercoaster” will probably always be my favorite, I find myself pushing repeat any time “One More Goodbye” plays on my iPod. I would love to see them absolutely explode onto the country scene, Randy and his band certainly deserve A level success.

I’ve always liked Randy Rogers’ voice, but have never gotten around to picking up one of his albums. “Tonight’s Not the Night” is the song I’m most familiar with, so I guess that’d have to be my favorite.

My favorite song from RRB is “Kiss Me In The Dark” because that was the first song I heard from them, I’ve been a fan ever since.

I like the band but like John Maflite haven’t really gotten around to picking up a copy of their albums. I can’t find them in my area and they aren’t on iTunes so I haven’t been able to find them. It says to say why I should win one, well since I can’t find one it would be great to finally have one. Plus having heard “In My Arms Instead” I’m really curious to hear the rest of the album. My favorite song of theirs is “One More Goodbye”.

I know I have heard these guys on XM and Sirius, but for the life of me cannot think of the names of the songs – so hey, it would be nice to have a CD, as I like the music when I hear it -

Randy’s voice is what makes the band work for me. It’s distinctive, emotional and strong enough to distract from even the lamest of lyrics or weakest of songs (not that they have a lot of bad lyrics and songs). My favorite song of theirs is “Tonight’s Not the Night.”

RRB is just a superb live act… but don’t bother entering me in the contest, I’m probably gonna go out and buy this disc ASAP.

I believe they will be back in Nashville at the Exit/In on October 25.

What makes the band great?: I love alliteration!

Aside from that, I’m not really familiar with them.

You don’t have to enter me though, because I’d hate it if I entered a contest of someone that I really liked and somebody who wasn’t a fan won over me. I’ll check them out though.

RRB rocks. I saw them open for Dierks in December 2006 and they put on a helluvah show.

My favourite songs are either “The Company You Keep” or “They Call it the Hill Country” from the Live at Billy Bob’s record.

I saw the Randy Rogers Band in Dubuque, Iowa open for Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley; I’d never heard of them until then, but have been a fan since. They rocked the stage!

Okay, I’ll do both. I’ve loved this band since I’ve heard them-I am definitely their ambassador in the North East. If it wasn’t for satellite radio they’d be unknown here. So I’d still by the download when I can afford it and use the cd to spread the word! RRB is like rock and roll for grown ups.
I love a lot of their songs, but the emotional release of “Just a Matter of Time” always gets me, and I love the vulnerability of “Whiskey’s Got a Hold of Me”

I’ve heard OF the band for a couple years, but I’ve never really gotten around to listening to them. But if the 9513 guys and Trailer like them, they must be pretty good, and a free CD would go along way to improve my knowledge.

(Sucking up to the powers that be probably don’t improve my odds of winning anything, but it’s worth a shot ;-) )

I also heard about Randy Rogers Band through a Dierks Bentley concert, but he just referenced them and I chose to download their cd, Just A Matter of Time. After listening to and loving there new cd, I found one of my favorite songs, Before I Believe It’s True.

My favorite thing about the band is that as great as they are on cd, they are even better live. So many times I’m disappointed when I see a band live, but not with these guys. Pure talent all the way to the core.

@mikeky – Here’s a YouTube video of Randy Rogers singing “Amazing Grace” with your boy Willie. He chimes in at the 1:40 mark.

Oh my goodness — I’m such a nut!! How could I forget to mention “This Time Around,” only THE best song by Randy Rogers?! I’m surprised nobody else has mentioned it. For those of you that really dig Randy Rogers stuff, you should check out Wade Bowen. They’ve written together and even go out on the road together and do an acoustic show that’s AMAZING!!

“Lost and Found” always gets a huge response at live shows so I’m surprised it hasn’t been mentioned yet. One of my favorites though, is “Tommy Jackson.”

I should win because my wife and I are the oldest RRB fans. We are both 45 and travel to Texas from Alabama at least once a year to catch them live. We have been following them since their first album and every album just gets better. We once drove 300 miles to Oxford, Ms in a driving rain storm to see them in a college bar where we and only about 30 other people knew them.

I already own this album, so I’m not trying to win…. just want to share that I LOVE THIS WHOLE ENTIRE CD but I’m addicted to “One Woman Man”. Someday, if someone is kind enough to marry me, I’d like to dance to that one!!! :-)

The Randy Rogers Band epitomizes true country; they tell a story in every song. My favorite song is a tie between “Kiss Me in the Dark” and “One More Goodbye”. These two songs have really great lyrics and great melodies.

Randy Rogers will not sell out just to seel a few more albums. Becuase they are loyal to their roots, the fan remain loyal to them. I was once asked if I could only take one album with me on a deserted island what would it be and I said “Randy Rogers Band Kiss Me in the Dark.” That response earned (me) free SoCo/Cranberries for a year! Yeah. RRB is that good!
