Eleven Hundred Springs put on a scorching show at the Continental Club last night.

They played some of their old stuff (“Northside Blues,” “The Only Thing She Left Was the Blues,” “Long Haired Tattooed Hippe Freaks,” “Thunderbird Will Do Just Fine”) a few covers (Mickey Newbury’s “Why You Been Gone So Long,” Johnny Cash’s “Rock Island Line,” Don Williams’ “I Believe In You”), and some of their new material (“Texas Afternoon,” “Every Time I Get Close To You,” “You Can’t Hide From Your Heart”), which sounded great.

Towards the end Matt called up a musician (his name escapes me now) to take over on his yellow-rose laden guitar and Doug Moreland to play a few licks on the fiddle. It was a honky-tonkin’ euphoric good time.

I remember seeing the guys,when they played with Billy Joe Shaver,in Dallas.I was selling tee shirts for Billy and had to help them sell theirs too,I could not keep anything on the table,so the guys had to help too.I had a blast taking pictures of both bands.Thanks for all the memories.

As voted by fans & media in Dallas/Fort Worth and the Big Winners at last nights’ Dallas Morning News / QuickDFW 1st Annual “Big Thing” Awards show….

Who needs Nashville, DFW has the biggest Country Music demographic in the nation….

I’ve seen EHS live many times and I am never disappointed. They always put on a great show. I’ve listened to their albums over and over, and the music never gets old. :)

Nobody Loves 1100’s music more than me. The New Music (Country Jam) is simply the best PURE Country record in quite some time. I’m not surprised that 1100 made lots of new fans on this road tour. They are a breath of fresh air in this monotonous industry. Texans are proud of this LoneStar band! As much as my husband and I like seeing them play in local bars, they have been kept a secret long enough. They are the next REAL Texas Country Stars!

I have been following them since the beginning & even before 1100 was formed. It all started for me was when Matt was “Matt the Cat” standing on the corner singing his little heart out, down in Deep Ellum in Dallas. They are the real deal! My only concern is that they WILL get big & I will not be able to see them in small bars & get to get hug from Matt & Steve but see them thru binoculars from some huge stadium seat.
