THANK YOU CHUCK! I COULDN'T AGREE MORE! They may very well SEEM like a polished bar band but, to anyone who don't know them, or have a bad opinion of them, YOU SHOULD ASK YOURSELF, DO I HAVE ANY INSTRUMENTAL AND SINGING TALENT? IF YOU DID THEN YOU WOULD BE WHERE THEY ARE RIGHT NOW!
remember the old saying,...
Walk a Mile in my shoes...
If you could, then you would see and feel all the heartache that each one has had to endure to get where they are at present, and not need to leave any negative opinions of the band!
You na sayers need to take a look at EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN ANY GENRE OF MUSIC that became FAMOUS or ONE HIT WONDERS, were ALL at ONE TIME, NOBODYS ALSO! They had to also be worked with, polished, cut, molded, into what they have become today, and made well known, in huge part, due to people such as Desmond Child, and Victoria Shaw!
This has been a life long dream for each of these guys that, through all thier hard effort is finally paying off for them!
This is their shot at something GREAT for each of the guys, and thier families, that had been coming for a long time and is well deserved!
My only regret for them is that all thier close friends and family that have passed on didn't get to see the huge accomplishment that they All have earned and are not there to enjoy the ride with them...
 R.I.P...SCOTT S., LLOYD C., GRANDPA GOOSE C., LEO G....
DUANE ALLISONS' SISTER!

You're right One Night Rodeo is a VERY polished bar band but... so was lonestar, emerson drive, and rascal flatts (formerly ace's high). where else do you play if your not touring? They have been paying their dues in florida for a LONG TIME. They did not win by accident, they have a very loyal fan following. I think they are very deserving of this. Lane and JC were equally talented and will probably get deals fast. But i think it was nice to see a band in one of these contests and they won. with desmond producing it they should be fine.

Lee Ann Womacks's crazy song list ...

8. Out Of My Head (And Back In My Bed) - Loretta Lynn

Possibly my favorite Loretta track. Her vocal on that one amazes me to this day. The woman can sing the fire out of a song when she wants to. Ah, I love Loretta Lynn.

I've known One Night Rodeo since I was a kid--they were one of the first bands I ever saw in a bar (they used to frequent Joyland in Sarasota). Bar band is literally the correct description. I cannot believe they won a national talent competition...

"One Night Rodeo" is a very polished bar band with tight harmonies but unless they score a killer song like "I Loved Her First" the odds of them getting on Top 40 radio is nil. Recent bands like Whiskey Falls gave radio a good shot and got nowhere. It was just a shame Lane Turner didn't win as he was hoping for a second shot at age 42. J.C. Andersen should try out for the next round of American Idol if he wants a country career...

The Lee Ann Womack "crazy" stuff is really a hoot but as a marketing tool I don't see it improving album sales....

I've been a big fan of Kasey Chambers early music since around 2002, and especially the music of her family's "Dead Ringer Band" before Kasey went solo. "Rattlin' Bones" is really a turn around back to her country roots after her last pop album "Carnival" and I'm glad she did it. "Rattlin Bones" seems inspired by everyone from The Carter Family, to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, to Buddy and Julie Miller. My only complaint is an overall lack of stylistic variety and too many slow numbers, but its still enjoyable. When I see Kasey and Shane and her Dad Bill tomorrow night I'm going to get Bill to autograpgh my copy of Kimber Sparks' "It's Her Turn" which Bill recently produced. I won't mention it to them but I like Kimber's new album far more than Kasey's and Shane's.........

Brad Paisley feels compelled to get this instrumental album out of his system and it will have no negative repurcussions on his current staemroller popularity. It is a vanity side project and will be treated as such. What's sad is that a killer instrumental could still do well on airgead country radio if given airplay, but that will never happen these days because the focus groups say no way........
