MySpace Artist Of The Week: Scott Hall
The polished vocals of Scott Hall lends to the impression that he’s been around the block a time or two, spending years in and out of the local bars perfecting his sound. After listening to his first two songs you get the feeling that slow songs are his strong suit, but that’s ok, because I’m a sucker for slow songs. His third piece is a well rounded cover of the famous Ain’t No Sunshine. Another original, Three Day Bender, starts out with Scott speaking “This song is for the person, or persons ever been drunk for three days in a row” lets the listener know that he enjoys his job. It’s a feel good song about a guy waking up after a three day drinking binge and wondering why he treats himself the way he does, then turns around and begins drinking again the very next night.
More from Scott’s Profile:
Scott is emerging as one of the most popular singer/songwriters to come out of North Texas. His original songs such as Two Loves Too Late; Paradise, TX; Home; The Rodeo; A Matter of Time; Granddad’s Song; True Hearts; Whiskey Train; and Three Day Bender have become favorites with his fans in all his shows and on MySpace.
Scott recorded the first LIVE at The Horseman Club album series on July 14, 2006 and we had a HUGE party at The Horseman Club in Fort Worth, Texas on September 23rd to officially release the CD. This was Scott’s fourth album, and from time to time we will post favorites from it as well as Panther City and A Matter of Time for his friends on MySpace. AIN’T NO SUNSHINE from the LIVE album is Scott’s new single to radio from the album and is currently at #10 on KFWR 95.9 The Ranch’s (Ranch Radio Group) playlist for November out of the Top 25. It is being picked up from Oklahoma to South Texas as it climbs the Texas Regional Radio Chart (Texas and Oklahoma).

Another great roots rocker to check out is Josh Davis. He just put out his first disc this year and I can’t get it out of my player. He’s been touring with the Jackson Taylor Band this fall. Check him out at http://www.myspace.com/thejoshdavisband

It’s about time Scott Hall gets some recognition. He is by far one of the few in Texas who has amazing vocals and should be considered a true vocalist, unlike alot of the raspy same ol red dirt artists. This guys is a real artist, and is well on his way to the top….

Awesome voice – awesome band. You have to check this guy out. Great original music all throughout the album. Slow – fast – it’s all fantastic. None of those “filler” songs either. Each song is great. Can’t wait to see them live…
