    Congrats Miss Leslie!

I liked “Dirt Cheap” when Catherine Britt did it on Little Wildflower and considered that a contemporary country album done right. Ashley Ray’s version is good and there’s a lot to like about it, but joining up with Mike Eli just seems like a way to get a leg up with his audience in Texas. I don’t think he adds anything worthwhile to the song.

Anyone and everyone who doesn’t have the Gene Watson album should go download that free track. One of the best of the year for sure.

That Keith Urban piece is a crock. Investigative journalism at it’s poorest, if you ask me.

There’s a reason why 10,000 All For the Hall tickets were sold before they “went on sale to the public.” The main reason is that there were about 4 different pre-sales.

I classify myself as an active country fan, but not necessarily seeking out Urban tickets. That being said, I’m on the email list for the Sommet Center–and they sent me a presale code that night. I’m also a member of the CMHoF–they sent me a presale code. I also do some work at the local country station WKDF and they broadcasted a presale code over the air, if I’m not mistaken. And the Monkeyviller’s also got a presale code.

I guess that’s a double-edged sword, in some respects, because scalpers can have equal access to the codes (in some cases). Regardless, I don’t fault Urban or think that what he’s doing is immoral.

The moral of this “investigative story”? The music industry is a business. Whoop di doo.

O man that Keith Urban stuff is juicy. This is the stuff I live for.

Glad to see you picked up on the new Biram video, finally. You missed me auctioning off (spoiler alert !!!) a piece of the guitar he smashes at the end.

I agree with Pierce!! Sounds like someone…Phil Williams or NewsChannel 5 have something personal against Keith. Why release this story on the eve of a huge awards show!! I think it’s all a bunch of crock as well!! He must be a fan of Brad Paisley’s or Taylor Swift’s! Keith Urban doesn’t strike me as that kind of a person.

There was a news story a year or two ago about another country artist’s manager fighting with Ticketmaster over asking for 100 tickets per show, which they were then selling through Stubhub. The artists and their managers know that ticket companies and brokers are cutting all kinds of deals on the side to auction off and sell tickets at a premium price. None of that money goes to artists, so some managers have started a similar practice to compete with Ticketmaster at its own game. Urban isn’t the only one doing it, and it just proves he has an active, progressive manager. I mean, what would Colonel Parker do?
In the long run, 100-200 tickets out of 10,000-20,000 isn’t a lot, and the manager figures this way the artist gets some of the cream otherwise going to ticket sellers. We should all know by now that the ticket industry is full of shadiness, As long as there are people willing to pay the inflated prices, then everyone with leverage is going to try and get their piece of the pie.

I can’t say it enough, but I love it that you gather all of the new releases each week. I look forward to Tuesday’s news roundups the most. It’s my favorite shopping day.

Congratulations to Miss Leslie! The poll should not be whether we think it will be a boy or a girl, but rather what instrument he/she will likely play some day! I’d vote for “pedal steel guitar”. (lol)

That Keith Urban story sounds like something off TMZ! Sensationalized pop culture gossip and twaddle.

The Wynn Stewart and Don Williams albums sound tasty. I’ve never noticed the “Micro Werks” label before but after today’s list of releases they sure are on my radar now!

I’m not a fan of Catherine Britt’s “Dirt Cheap” and don’t much care for Ashley Ray either. On the other hand I’m all for Ashley using any angle she can to gain a footing within the almost totally male artist dominated “Red Dirt” music scene. Ashley’s just as talented as Maren Morris for whatever that is worth. If these gals really want to attract a big “Red Dirt” audience, they should tour together and do some mud wrestling after their sets! Give those drunk Texan and Oklahoma cowboys what they really want…
