There’s no confirmation on whether the tattoo was real or not.

Great Miranda and Kenny music videos!

Ehhhhhhhh. The new MirLam is a little underwhelming for me, but the Chesney isn’t too bad. I can definitely see American football folks really digging it.

Mirandas is cute..but I was expecting A LOT more. Costumes and makeup ok..but where’s the action I was so hoping for? Darn it.
Kennys: As a former marching band member from high school through college and former ass’t band director, I spent many Friday nights at the football field. I love sports too so I was always into the games. When I saw that video, I cried. It hit my memories and heart.

I love Kenny’s video. It brought back some memories for sure. I wish there would have been less NFL and college and more high school though, except for the great interviews with Manning, Favre, and Joe Willie.

I remember buying Kim Begg’s first CD when it was released. I’m glad she’s still making more music. I have to see her show one of these days!

Love the new Miranda video, ’tis fantastic! =)

The new Miranda video fell flat for me. With that song and Miranda’s attitude I expected a lot more excitement. That was “cute”….. which was disappointing for me.

I’ve never heard of Kim Beggs before, but that’s a nice song for a freebie download. Talk about a mellow and understated approach, crikey! I think Kim’s still thawing out from the last Yukon winter.
Love the Texas Music Scene feature on The Tejas Brothers. Sounds like they wisely found a better guitar player since they recorded their fine self-titled album. Its hard to top a good Tex-Mex accordion player with that mariachi touch!
I think “Red” Horse is the perfect name for that trio of gals, and especially since its featured on NPR.
Jeannie Shepherd was only 19 years old when she recorded “Dear John Letter” with Ferlin Husky as part of the early Bakersfield Sound movement. It seems being exposed to Rose Maddox had an influence on young Jean at the time.
Is it permissible around here to say I don’t give a flying sh*t about Kenny Cheesy, Miranda Lambert, their music, their music videos, or football? I didn’t think so…

To those leaving negative comments, it’s okay, it’s your opinion, but don’t ruin it for the rest of us and go listen to what you like!

I didn’t know that Charlie Daniels’ odes to lynching qualify as patriotic songs.
August 3, 2010 at 8:45 pm
I saw Kennys video this morning and I loved it.
August 3, 2010 at 10:31 pm
I didn’t know that Charlie Daniels’ odes to lynching qualify as patriotic songs.
Do you have specific titles in mind, or is this just a general slam?
August 3, 2010 at 11:13 pm
Thank goodness Charlie is offering us another chance to once again ponder the subtle geopolitical understanding contained in thoughtful numbers like “This Ain’t No Rag, It’s A Flag.”
August 3, 2010 at 11:14 pm
Do you have specific titles in mind, or is this just a general slam?
I bought Daniels’ CD “Simple Man” when it came out. As I recall, the title song and the “Rednecks” song both fit that category. It’s been 20 years and I threw the disc out, so I can’t quote the lyrics.
Btw, I like Haggard, Hank Jr., Toby Keith and “Sweet Home Alabama,” so I am open-minded about music and politics. (And I like Charlie on the GEICO commercial.)
August 3, 2010 at 11:16 pm
It seems like Kenny Chesney is getting a bit self-indulgent. I thought it was unnecessary that “The Boys of Fall” had a three-minute long instrumental ending. And now an eight-minute video? Just try to hold my interest that long.
August 4, 2010 at 12:17 am
Is it weird that Charlie Daniels’ odes to lynching is what first attracted me to him? Of course, since then it has allowed me to check out all of his music to find he is one of the most underrated artists of his generation.
August 4, 2010 at 7:14 am
Well, I’m not very likely to go out of my way to listen to, much less buy, an album of patriotic songs from Charile; although I like him and a fair amount of his music, we have pretty different definitions of patriotism and pretty different politics in general. And after a lyrics review, I can see where you could say that “Simple Man” (though not “Rednecks”) is an ode to lynching, though I think “vigilantism” would have been a much better word; the former has a nearly inescapable historic connection to racism that the latter doesn’t, and I don’t see anything in the song that suggests such a component.
August 4, 2010 at 8:05 am
God Bless Charlie Daniels. I am surprised there would even be a mention on this website of an album that would hint at patriotism.
Lambert continues to to be the anti-Barbie spokesperson. Gotta love her grit. Just hope she doesn’t become an overblown product of her self-revelation.
August 4, 2010 at 8:08 am
By the way, I like the Chesney video, just not Chesney in it. Him being in this type of video is like Jamey Johnson’s appearance as the preacher in Lambert’s “White Liar” video. Just doesn’t quite fit if you know what I mean.
August 4, 2010 at 8:19 am
Gosh, Waynoe, after you’re surprised that folks defy your expectations a few dozen times, maybe you ought to think about altering your expectations.
August 4, 2010 at 9:58 am
Waynoe: Do me a favor and watch Go Dragons for me.
August 4, 2010 at 10:00 am
A “relevant” expectation? You mean what I like or believe in should be altered to fit current trends and/or situations? In other words, if no one can score in the game, change the way scoring is done?
You probably believe in moral equivalency as well.

Loved the Miranda video! Fun to see the outfits and the girls all together having a ball.
Kenny’s video was o.k. The lack of Coach Bobby Bowden was unacceptable!! He has been a mainstay for college football for 30 plus years.
August 7, 2010 at 5:59 am
To Miranda Lambert vid: fine but still.. sigh
August 9, 2010 at 8:13 pm
No Bobby Bowden in the Boys of Fall video. No more of my money in Kenny’s pocket!
