Mel Tillis, Vince Gill, And Ralph Emery To Be Enshrined At The Hall
- All the big news outlets are reporting on the induction of Mel Tillis, Vince Gill, and Ralph Emery into the Country Music Hall of Fame, but The Tennessean has the best coverage so far. Peter Cooper writes that Tillis was in his garden and fumbled his eggplant when he heard the news, while Emery was similarly stunned, and Gill wept as he drove around Nashville listening to country oldies. Cooper also provides some career highlights from each of the inductees and says that the ceremony will not take place at the CMA Awards like in years past, but will be moved to the Hall of Fame itself for its own evening.
- The CMA Awards website has an even more detailed briefing of the lives and careers of the three inductees.
- Chet Flippo asks who among your favorites is not a member of the CMHOF, but should be? Paul W. Dennis wasn’t shy and listed thirty-three and even put them in the order that they should be inducted.

- Nekesa Mumbi Moody asks the question, “Singer-songwriters, or just singers?,” in her article that deals with the issue of songwriting credits. Moody doesn’t mention the country music genre, but it’d be interesting to see if any of the bigger stars take songwriting credits on songs that they didn’t actually have a hand in writing.
