I didn’t know who Jenette McCurdy was but I asked my nephews who are 12 and they knew. It’s fine by me if the label signs someone like her. Sure she ‘got in’ because of who she was but that doesn’t mean that Capitol signed only because of that. They must’ve genuinely liked her abilities. Guess that doesn’t mean it’s country though.

When is Nashville going to wake up and stop signing bad artist that will fade into obscurity in 6 months? Nashville is a wealth of talent but the labels rather create a disposable culture and sign crappy artist that will make them quick cash. Capitol is the one label in town I had hope for, that wouldn’t give into singing an artist just because they are what’s cool for the moment. Man was I proven wrong! But then again it is called the music business for a reason, you definitely can’t forget the “business” part.
