I’ve never been to a karaoke deal before, but I think it’d be pretty hilarious. I do love to bowl when I get the chance. It sucks the owner shut down such a golden opportunity.

Not exactly the same as the Jake Owen story, but I was in a Seattle bowling alley with a group of people that included a few members of Pearl Jam. It was a bowling alley/karaoke bar. Members of the group (also including some fairly prominent members of the Seattle music scene) kept slipping up for a karaoke number. Finally, a singer people recognized (named Eddie Vedder) took the mike but the owner kicked everyone out because it was closing time. That kind of situation makes one realize it takes more than a machine to make a bar a karaoke bar. The owner didn’t have a clue what he was ruining.
