Mailbag: Second Edition

Brody Vercher | March 16th, 2007 Email Share

Last month Jenna posted the first edition of the mailbag, where the questions don’t actually come from email, but rather the search queries in our stats program. Today I’m bringing you the second edition. Since search queries are generally simple, the questions don’t get too complex. With that said, let’s get started.

The most popular questions revolved around Brad Paisley and his baby. With “Did Brad Paisley’s wife have her baby?” and “What did Brad Paisley name his son?” being the searched for several times.
Yes, he did have his baby…or rather his wife had his baby. They named him William Huckleberry Paisley. In an interview Brad said that Huckleberry was in reference to Huckleberry Finn.

That is Kristian Bush, the other half of the Sugarland duo.

That’s a negative, ghostwriter. Yes, his brother was/is a member of Train, and has also played with John Mayer as well as Sugarland.

Where can I find Last of the Breed t-shirts?
I’m not sure whether they have t-shirts for this event. If they do, I’m sure you can pick them up at the concert. This is a good questions for Linda at Still Is Still Moving.

Is Bucky Covington and his wife divorcing?
Yes, they “is” divorcing.

Are Tim McGraw and Faith Hill splitting?
Nothing has been shooting around the rumor mill about a split, and it’s very unlikely since they just announced their combined tour dates for this year’s tour.

Carrie Underwood butt pictures?
Keep dreaming, buddy.

What did Joe Nichols sing at Anna Nicole Smith’s funeral?
He sang his current hit single “I’ll Wait For You” and Dolly Parton’s “Wings of a Dove.”

Who is Mary Jason Carpenter?

Is Amy Nelson the daughter of Willie Nelson?
Yes, she is the youngest of his daughters.

What did Elisa lie about?
The song is actually about Alyssa and she lied about how she got her bruises. It’s an emotional song about abuse.

What’s the Kenny Chesney scoop – is he gay?
The jury is still out on that one, although Chesney recently told the crew at 60 minutes that he was not gay. “It’s not true. Period. Maybe I should have come out and said no, I’m not (gay), but I didn’t want to draw any more attention to it…I didn’t have to prove to anybody that I wasn’t (gay)…I didn’t feel like I really did.”

Who is Pete Anderson?
He founded Little Dog Records and plays a mean guitar along with producing other artists. You can see his bio on the Little Dog Records website.

The restaurant’s website lists it as 220 North Plaza Drive, Nicholasville, KY. Before visiting, read our exclusive interview with JMM to find out what dish he recommends.

Where do I find the “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” movie?
If you’re looking for the music video, you can find it on YouTube here. BTW, what’s up with people finding our site by searching for butts?

When does Tim McGraw’s new album come out?
Later this month. March 27th to be exact.

How do I contact Chet Flippo?
Good question. There appears to be no way to contact him directly through CMT. The FAQ section on their website says “Please mail your comments, suggestions, and responses to CMT and an editorial representative will send them to the appropriate writer or editor.” Maybe I’m blind, but the contact info is extremely hard to find, which seems to be very anti-web to me. However, if you dig into their privacy policy they provide the email address questions@cmt.com. So to answer your question, I imagine if you send your comments to that address they’ll eventually get to Chet Flippo.

Thanks for the update, I assumed that since he was playing with Sugarland that he wasn’t part of Train, which serves me right for assuming.

Hey, Brody, Merle Haggard has a small merchandise display at the Last of the Breed Shows, and he has event merchandise there: Bumper stickers, key chains, tee shirts, posters, let’s see, hats, I think.

There is lots of Willie Nelson merchandise at the shows, his regular traveling crew, the Frank Brothers, with Ruthie and Lucky (say hi to them for me), working the shows. They will have one merchandise shirt at the BackYard shows, a few hundred anyway that will go fast. Their shirts will have the names of the cities on the back of the shirt, and, I think, a picture of Willie, from the Spirit Album, (that is so beautiful)on the front.

    That’s all I know!

Oh, no LOTB cds/albums in Colorado, but they might have them in Austin.

Oooh, I type too fast, wish I could edit my posts. Gotta remember to proof my posts.

What I meant to say is Willie’s merchandise booth will have one Event Shirt, Last of the Breed, at the Austin shows.

Welcome to the country music blogosphere, ICF. I’m interested to see what kind of content you’ll have on your blog. Thanks for commenting and hope you stick around.

Linda – Thanks for the info. If they have a limited number of shirts they’ll probably be gone at the show tonight, which means they won’t have any for the show tomorrow, boo. That’d be pretty sweet if they had CDs for sale though.

When I saw Willie here in a the city a while back (The Beacon) he had special shirts made up just for the event.

Willis most always has shows just for the events printed up, or the Frank Brothers do. Posters, too, a couple hundred.

For some reason, no one I asked knew why, Merle got the event shirts for tihs tour. The Last of the Breed merchandise. But Willie will have one at Austin, or they were going to try. I’m not there, and I am still kicking myself for not being there right now!

Shirts printed up, shirts, not shows. (sorry).

Baron – My sources are all pointing to no, sorry man. As far as t-shirts go, I wish that they would have had some cool ones. I didn’t really like any of the ones they had to offer, plus everything was extremely expensive. Brady bought a CD, a hat, and a sticker for $65. That’s borderline ridiculous.

Linda – Willie had Last of the Breed shirts with the tour dates on the back and a huge picture of his face on the front. I didn’t see a Merle booth though. They had a Last of the Breed booth, but it was a quarter of the size of Willie’s booth.
