Toby supports the troops NOT the war, as he has always said.

I was very curious when I first heard about the ZBB/Buffet Crossroads taping, and will have to wait to see it for myself. To me, it furthers a myth of what ZBB is, and I don’t see them as that laid-back Island-style music. I see them more as a southern-rock-with-Country-influences act, a la Lynyrd Skynyrd. The bottom line, I suppose, is that it’s all good music – regardless of labels.

Its nice to see Loretta Lynn earn a well deserved honor, but I hope its not due to Jack White and “Van Lear Rose”.

Wow, a Time Magazine politically correct, leftist “conventional wisdom” mindset applied to music! That Obamavoter rag isn’t worthy to line my bird cage with let alone waste time reading….

Taylor Swift’s hair is naturally wavy so I don’t expect it to stay straight for long. Maybe she’s using those hair straightening products from that Texas company whose radical Palestinian owner wants to run for Governor on the Democrat ticket! I hope he gets the nomination!!!!!! Let’s see that leftist embrace of socially divisive “diversity”, and “multi-culturalism” put into direct action in Texas politics!

I really don’t grasp what Razor X finds so amazing about “Mountain Soul II”. I find that album to be very lackluster in comparison to the original. Hmm…

So the Tejas Brothers open for 1100 Springs in Texas huh? I wish they’d do that up here in Los Angeles some day when the ‘Springs” pass through. I think more Latinos live in the L.A. area than all of Texas, so it should be a great fit! (lol)

I love Carrie Underwood’s comment: “It was really important to me because all I knew was how to be a consumer. I didn’t know how to be an artist.” I mean has anything really changed here that I missed? Crikey!

So you’ve said. I don’t really grasp how someone can repeatedly complain about “Airhead Top 40 Country Radio”, and then in the next breath reveal that he doesn’t like, among others, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Rodney Crowell, and Gary Allan. Nor do I understand how that same person can complain about Mountain Soul II while embracing music from the likes of Carter’s Chord, Jypsi, and Bomshel — um, excuse me, make that BOMSHEL. But that’s just me.

It’s not just Razor, Rick…I think he expains himself quite well in his own review of Mountain Soul II, and in many of his subsequent comments on the album.

And here is mine, written for Country Universe:

I am proud to join Razor in the chorus of praise for this fine album, and this extraordinary artist.

There are others as well, shall we go on?

But all the critical acclaim in the world does not trump personal taste, and you are certainly entitled to yours. But Razor is certainly not alone in his very high regard for this latest Loveles/Gordy masterpiece.

Excellent list by the way, Razor.

Mark Sanford lied, got busted going to Argentina to buck his mistress, used public funds to do it, got ditched by his wife, and the best news he’s had all year is that only 9 of the charges against him might be impeachable offenses. HOW DOES HE NOT TOP THE MOST EMBARRASSING LISTS?!?!?!
