How could you guys miss the biggest news story of all, that Miley Cyrus is set to invade the country charts with her version of "The Climb" off the Hannah Montana Movie soundtrack?
Link: http://blog.cmt.com/2009-02-24/the-other-cyrus-on-country-radio/#more-2149

Will the 'tweener overthrow of Top 40 country radio started by Taylor Swift be completed by Miley? Can you imagine the snark wars that will rage on blogs across the land between the Miley vs. Taylor fan groups? Pity the poor screeching teenie that is a huge fan of both artists as cognitive dissonace sets in. Oh, the humanity....(lol)

PS - With Taylor Swift crossing over into the pop realm its only fair that the Jonas Brothers invade the country charts as well....

At Jimmy Dickens age with those types of health problems, he likely won't be around much longer. Time waits fo no one...

As for Craig Shelburne's "90's Ladies" list, he does list gals who had the biggest commercial impact and who charted the direction of mainstream country. Personally I am only a big fan of Mary Chapin Carpenter's early albums and don't much care about the other artists touted, shocking as that may be to all you Reba and Trisha fans. My favorite female artists of the 90's include Kim Richey, Mandy Barnett, and Jann Browne so I'm on a different wavelength.

I'm sure the gals of BOMSHEL appreciate the mention! (Or maybe not after the review here of "Fight Like A Girl".)

It's nice to see cowboy artist extraordinaire Red Steagall get a mention here. Red is one of the best storytellers alive and his live shows are spellbinding. Red is mostly known for helping Reba get her start in the business, but he is an amazing artist in his own right.
