I’ve been scouring the book of Revelation for some mention of this album, figuring it had to be the soundtrack to the Four Horsemen’s scourge or maybe the eight-track in the seven-headed beast’s ‘66 Camaro. But no, Johnny Cash Remixed is nothing quite so earth shattering or notable. It’s more like a small, remote geyser through which a little bit of hell bubbles up into our world.
He goes on to note that the album’s lone saving grace, if you can call it that, is Count De Money’s take on “Big River.” (via Twang Nation)

Wish I could be there for the CRS stuff in Nashville. :( Looks like the live performance will be a great one to listen in on.
I’ve seen the country shirts at a couple of Walmart stores here. Just a little FYI…they shrink really badly and only go up to I think size XL on most. My hubby’s poor ole Waylon shirt looks like it could fit a child now. They are found over in the mens clothing section.
Glad to hear that Little Jimmy is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery! :)
Looks like the Steeldrivers mention the 9513 via their blog today.

When I saw the Cherryholmes Family perform in Torrance in early 2008, they claimed their performance of “This Is My Son” was its public debut. I don’t know if that was true but the song absolutely blew the audience away. I really don’t see the overtly Christian / gospel angle of the song being embraced at secular Top 40 country radio stations where mentions of God are okay as long as there is no real spiritual message attached.
Thanks for the link to the Miss Leslie Sloan interview. She is one interesting gal and very passionate about what she does. I wonder how her free CD giveaway has been going? She sent me one that I’m forwarding to a country music radio show host down under. Go Leslie!

I think Randy Houser is confused about the meaning of “Back to God.”

I agree, Brady. I think he’d be much better off by not giving the unnecessary attempt at a disclaimer every time he talks about the song.

“Elvis Costello hosts Spectacle…featur[ing]… Norah Jones (who will perform a new song co-written by Hank Williams).” Norah Jones is cowriting with Hank Williams. Hmm, interesting…

Hank’s newest song, co-written with Chris Sligh, will be the first single from Keith Urban’s new album.

@TimeO – A while back there was talk of an album that would consist of Hank Williams songs that were still in progress when he died. Bob Dylan was at the helm, but he invited several artists to contribute to different songs and I imagine the Norah Jones song is one of them.
Update: Here’s an article. She played the song at an event last year, too.

Thanks for linking to me, y’all; it’s always very much appreciated. Just so ya know, “Milliken” has two “l”s – common mistake.

Dan, I’m disappointed about the spelling correction of your last name as I was hoping to purchase some “junk bonds” from you. Oh well… (Gee, I don’t know if 80’s humor works here at The 9513? Hmmm…)

Trailer’s “Farce The Music” take on Rascal Flatts “Unstoppale” is a good bit of naughty fun. Some creative artistic types have taken to expressing different facets of the personality of Chairman Obama over at Fark. The same warnings and disclaimers apply to this link, so beware loyal subjects of King O.:

What a fright to give someone. When I read this at first I thought the Urban cowboy was about to desecrate yet another real Country song!

Thanks for the link, Brody. Miss Leslie is a magnificent artist that I think more people need to hear – those of us who love traditional country.
