- In an interview with Kinky Friedman about politics, he says the internet is the work of Satan. You’ll also recognize that he uses some of the same lines as Billy Joe Shaver, who served as his spiritual adviser when he ran for governor of Texas. Even if you don’t agree with his politics, you have to agree he’s entertaining.

- A poll conducted by CMT found that seventy-four percent of respondents felt like a female should have been included in this year’s entertainer category at the CMAs. However, I’m pretty much in agreement with Wade Jessen, the director of country charts at Billboard magazine.
Jessen said someone will always be unhappy with the CMA’s choices because there are more artists than there are nominations and awards to go around. He said he would hate to see political correctness mandate that a certain number of women or new artists or independent labels be represented in the nominating categories.
“The top vote-getters are the top vote-getters,” Jessen said. “If you look at it too critically, you’re always going to find flaws in a number of these categories.”

- Amoeba Records released a live Gram Parsons/Flying Burrito Brothers album today titled Gram Parsons Archives Vol. I: The Flying Burrito Brothers Live At The Avalon 1969. It’s supposedly the “highest quality live Parsons/Burritos recording out there.”

I have never seen the movie Black Dog, but I do own the soundtrack. I bought it to get “Highway Junkie” by Gary Allan. I absolutely love Gary’s version! I can listen to this song over and over and not get sick of it. That voice! OK, yea I have it bad for The Man.
The rest of the CD is good too. I also like “Road Man” by Big House. It has a funky groove to it. “On Down the Line” By Ms. Loveless is a classic. Love her voice too.
