I was really interested to hear that new 1100 Springs song to hear how the production differed from “Country Jam”, and I like it a lot. Nice job guys!
The review of the Dailey & Vincent tribute to the Statler’s was about what I expected. A Louvin Brothers tribute would be much more interesting to me as Charlie never had that great of singing voice and Dailey & Vincent’s vocals could add a new dimension.
Kristen Kelly is as much fun to look at as she is to listen to. So she got engaged the day after this video was recorded eh? Imagine that! (lol)
I enjoyed the Dwight Yoakam interview. I’m glad I caught his act at Stagecoach a couple of years ago as it was the highlight. I think Taylor Swift was on the main stage at the time, so it was great having real country music to listen to as an alternative.

Well, there are a couple of things I don’t agree with in Grant’s review of the Dailey & Vincent Statlers album, but de gustibus, etc. There is, though, one mistaken premise; Dailey & Vincent are fronted by the duo for which their group is named, but they are in fact a band, and bandmembers Jeff Parker and Joe Dean Jr. – particularly the former, who is a world-class singer in his own right – have been singing with Jamie and Darrin from the get-go, not “coming together and learning the parts in the studio” with them. Just sayin’…

I had the same thought on that particular point, Jon. For me, the takeaway from that review was the last sentence.

Clarification on the Scorchers. This is their first STUDIO album since 96. they had a live disc out on Mammoth in 1998.

I flat out loved the Dailey & Vincent record but the duo has yet to release a dud in my eyes.

Here’s one for my buddy NorthTexasVet! Carrie Underwood chose an unusual way to announce that she would be performing at this year’s upcoming Fan Fair festival. Turns out Carrie made a personal phone call to one of her biggest fans in the Nashville area as arranged by TV Channel 2 and likely Brad Schmidt in particular. A video was made for an evening news segment that certain 50 something guys from Texas might enjoy…(lol)
Carrie’s Big Announcement Video Link: (After the annoying commercial of course. Sheesh.)
