If I got a set of these tix, I’d take my 17 year old daughter. The top five draws for me are (in alphabetical order):

Drive-By Truckers - these guys are so creative and I love their early stuff that just about drips Alabama drawl…

Lyle Lovett and his Large Band - I’ve wanted to see this guy ever since he sang about “riding a pony” on his boat… (that was 1988?)

Willie Nelson - believe it or not, I haven’t yet seen this legend in person. I just found out he is my father’s age, which means he’s the coolest 74 year old I know of.

Leon Russell - how can you not see this guy if he’s offered. And how do you know if he’ll live to do another show?

The Wreckers - My daughter’s first concert was to see Hanson in Phoenix, she must have been 11 at the time. The opening act was Michele Branch, who is half of the Wreckers. How about that for a cool wrap-around?

Hope you give me a pair of tickets!

    Here are my top 5:
Los Lonely Boys–Their album “Sacred” is one of my favorites. I want to hear “Diamonds” and “Roses.”
Dierks Bentley–What a charismatic performer! His was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
Miranda Lambert–You know she is going places. She is so talented and I love that she does things her own way.
Bruce and Charlie Robison–I respect that they haven’t sold out to get more airplay on country radio. Their songs are crafted with such skill.
Willie Nelson–Willie Nelson, come on! One day he will be gone and I will be able to say, like my mother, that I saw him live in concert.

I have been a country music fan all my life. I would love to be able to go to the Big State Festival. I am retired and living on a fixed income so it would be very hard for me to see a show like this. My wife and I would love to see all the performers but our favorites are Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Trace Adkins, Gary Allen and Dierks Bentley.

Willie Nelson (because he is the best stage show)
Lynyrd Skynyrd (because I have never seen a performance)
Lyle Lovett (because I am crazy about his texas songs)
    Leon Russel (great performer)
    Robert Earl King (just because)
Mainly because I am a senior citizens and between me

I would love tickets to this festival because I love me some texas country music and I just turned 21 this past weekend. I can’t imagine life getting any better than some great country music and some ice cold brews. So here are my five:
1.) Robert Earl Keen - true Texas country music! You can’t beat “The Road Goes on Forever”
2.) Jack Ingram - I’ve been a fan of him since before he went Nashville. He actually played my high school homecoming back in the day.
3.) Willie Nelson - Because Willie Nelson is King!
4.) Lyle Lovett - Had one of the best sets of ACL last year.
5.)Eli Young Band - up and coming superstars

It’s hard to only pick 5 of them!

2 - Willie Nelson - that is self-explanatory as to why anyone would want to see him!

    Howdy!
I didn’t have to look at the lineup..I think I’ve had most of the bands memorized since it went up.

1)Gary Allen: I’ve been a fan since the 90’s. The first song I ever heard was “Her Man”. He’s been my #1 artist since. Only seen him live 1 time!
2)Willie Nelson: Cliche, I know! I got screwed out of seeing him a few years ago and I still want to see him. I fell in love with him with “There you are”.
3)Gougers: Local favorite of B/CS. Support the local musicians!
    4) Miranda Lambert: Gotta love any pyro loving girl!
5)Kevin Fowler: Anytime I can hear “Speak of the Devil” off the Beer Bait & Ammo Cd - I am excited. The gf’s & I all agree that is my theme song..
“Speak of the devil here she comes
Yeah, she’s got this poor boy on the run
Oh, I swear she’s got horns and a tail
A pitchfork and a book of spells
Speak of the devil here she comes, and here I go!
    Fallen angel fell from grace
They kicked her out of that heavenly place
She was a raisin’ hell and breakin’ all the rules”…Yes Thats me!
…So thats my artist choices…It will be a great couple of days and I’d love to be a part of it.Plus, this will be the first time my SO & I will be able to have the ENTIRE weekend to ourselves and not have the kids with us.

Ive been waiting for a concert series like this for forever. I didnt go to ACL this year because I knew this would be so much better. I plan on taking my best friend and having one hell of a time listening to some good ol’ Texas country.

Picking my top five is the hardest thing Ive done in school this year, but here they are:

Lyle Lovett and His Large Band - Ive never seen Lyle play live and I cant wait to hear what he’d do “if he had a boat.”
Robert Earl Keen - Like a good whiskey, he only gets better with age. His songs are timeless.
Reckless Kelly - To me, the perfect Texas country band. They dont sound too garage band-ish but know how to rock and put on a good show!
Eli Young Band - I love the new sound they bring to Texas country and cant wait to see where it takes them.
Dierks Bentley - I havent seen Dierks play since he first started out, but love the sound of him singing and playing guitar.

The Big State Festival has some awesome artists performing. But here are the top 5 reasons that I want to go:
    1) Tim McGraw - why aren’t more people posting on here listing him?! He is one of the best male country artists out there.
    2) Miranda Lambert - Great songs and nice lady, have been fortunate enough to meet her.
    3) Gary Allen - Unique voice and I’ve always wanted to see him live.
    4) Dierks Bentley - Awesome new country artist. I like every song I’ve heard him sing.
    5) Reckless Kelly - A favorite band with many memories for me and my husband.

Big State Festival is going to kick ass…

Willie always puts on a good show, Miranda Lambert’s voice is as beautiful as she is, Dierks Bentley is awesome, The Wreckers will be cool to see live and Lynyrd Skynyrd will rock the show. Old school meets new school. Should bring a motley crowd.

I will have too travel several hundred miles to attend the show, so free tickets will help keep the grocery fund alive. ha, ha,
