Saturday Night: Blake Shelton and The Wrights

Its pretty sad that having both Loretta and Blake on the same show doesn’t warrant a GAC “Opry Live” recording session these days.

Rick’s Random Tidbits: I’m not a big fan of so called “country” artists who came to Nashville via American Idol. I will make an exception for Miss Jordan Sparks who sang a Patsy Cline classic with the Time Jumpers this past Monday night at the Station Inn. Now that’s an American Idol alumni performance I could appreciate! Now if only they would have recorded it to offer online. Darn….

Kelly, I’m shocked that you and I disagree about a Texas music artist! (lol) “Rick Smack” strikes again…

Wowsers Brady, I don’t think I’ve seen you on the warpath like that before here at The 9513. I’d surmise from this that Rascal Flatts is not your current favorite country band. Let’s hope that the arrogance reflected in “Unstoppable” is the pride that goeth before the fall phase of their career.

I guess topping the charts after forcing “Bob That Head” on us and getting away with naming their tour after the song inflated Rascal Flatts’ heads to the point that they think Unstoppable is an apt title. Someone needs to start one of those chain emails–the ones that get forwarded a million times–saying that Rascal Flatts promotes promiscuity and casual fellatio and send it to every teenager’s mother they can find. Now that would be grand.

Sorry, Rick, I gotta disagree with you. I was pumped to see this album get some recognition after so many years. I wore this cd out, and even more, this CD cemented (even further) Willis as a force on the Texas concert circuit, before it was dubbed “Red Dirt”. This disc got her onto the Letterman show when she sang “I Have Not Forgotten You”…
