Josh Turner – “Firecracker”

I like this song a lot. I think that it shows the diversity of Josh. I think that it will go to #1. But I also agree with Country Woman when it comes to Carrie, Kenny and Tim. I like them and they put out good music but you do get tired of hearing them so much.

I’ve waited so long for a song off of Josh’s new album! I’m so excited about “Firecracker”! I love this song! And I can’t wait for the new album! Josh Turner is the best country artist out there! By the way, I agree with the comments above mine. I’m extremely tired of hearing Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney!

It will be very interesting to hear what the new album will be like. I’ve heard a few of the tracks and it is the same Josh Turner formula – traditional sounding songs. He doesn’t sway towards the pop scene or sway towards something that you won’t hear 10 years, 50 years, or more down the road. Josh’s road to success has been filled with several number one hits and granted, Me & God did not make #1 on the country, but it struck #1 on the Christian Country charts.

You can never get tired of hearing traditional songs sung by Josh Turner. This song is definitely a great foundation for his upcoming album in the fall. It is getting a good buzz already. :)

I like Josh, but I get the feeling that he’s still in the musical wilderness, searching for his voice. I don’t get the sense that he’s staked out his own artistry. But he’s not even 30 yet; maybe he’ll get there.

The first time I heard this song I thought “wow I have to have this cd” but does anyone know when it will be Released. I love this cd and Josh Turner! I agree with the comment above about the whole Carrie, Kenny && Tim remark we’ve heard all their songs about a million times on the radio repeating over and over. we all love their music but we dont want to hear it 24/7. But, anyways I can’t wait till it is Released.

Josh is great for country music. It is refreshing to hear a traditionalist like him belt it out. There should be more like him….

firecracker is the epitamey of what true country music is.. and only a true southern country boy can sing country music and you believe what he’s singin about…Country Radio today is obsessed with boy bands like rascall flatt, emerson drive and other pop country groups like little big town.. country music should split into two different genres country pop and pure country. AS a fellow SOuth Carolinian we LOVE JOSH and anything he puts out…

ANd no matter if his songs hit #1 or not true country music fans love his music…

People. You do realize the meaning of stupid doing you? This song has made the new dumbest of the dumb list. This is the song that defines stupid music. This is why country is why country sucks.

Seriously. What mind set was he in when he wrote it? Would you go home and call your wife a “far-cracker?” Would you as the wife actually agree that this is something you’d want to be called???

If so we should all go back to calling mom and dad, ma and pa.

This song is the insults of insults to my ears. I’ve never heard a song as incredibly epitomical of why country music has problems. Not just big problems, but Big Biiiig problems! And then there are you people who listen to it. Can I ask a small favor from you? Can you please not have children. Please don’t reproduce. We want intelligence people this great country. We want learned people who respect one another and don’t write songs about their “far-cracker” wife…..

You make some interesting points, but I’m still a little confused. What if you call your wife a sparkler, say, or a bottle rocket? Does the variety of the fireworks under discussion dictate the intelligence level of the singer, songwriter and/or listener? If you call your wife a “Roman candle,” are you necessarily impugning her ancestry?

I have just heard the new song by Josh/Firecracker… I love it and I am a female!! I think it is very sweet for a man and woman to have pet names for each other. Josh you keep those wonderful songs coming. I love every one of them.

Personally, I question his level of intelligence simply on the basis of the fact that he/she stated the he hates Country Music. Well then why listen? I know that I do not like most of the screaming “music” produced these days. So I simply do not listen. DUH!
But I guess that makes me not too pretty smart or even very intelligence. Instead, I sit here and laugh at the idiocy of people who choose to inject their negative view simply to “stir the pot”. I wish him the best and hope he finds something that makes him happy enough to not have to BI*CH about something that he does not even like. So alls I haves to say is “Hate the Game, not the Playa baby.”

Lol… when I heard this song on the radio, I liked it! Though I only heard the last half because it was in the car. I thought it was an old country song ’cause the radio station plays new/old country songs. I was supprised to find out that it was from Josh Turner! I love that guy! I love his song “Would you go with Me”

Anyway, my nickname from all my friend(and parents) is “Firecracker” and the line I could make out the best listening is “my little darlin is a firecracker”… that just reminded me of my dad! lol!

holy cow i dont even know where to start the comments from the ones who love this song i completely agree with but the ones from people like “i depsise country” they need to shut their mouths, im a down home country boy born and raised on a farm and i was raised to respect my elders and what not. u dont see “hicks” or “rednecks” or whatever were called where u guys come from, u dont see us murdering and robbing old ladies or anybody for that matter. i personally love this song and how it can relate to pretty much everyone, ’cause everybody thinks there wives the best and better than the next guys wife i know i can relate to it it describes my girlfriend perfectly oh and another thing, most country girls wouldnt take it as disrepect to be called a firecracker because it means that they are absolutely amazing in your eyes so anyone who doesnt listen to country music and love it needs there heads examined

Hello- I have just discovered this great blog. I am 42 years, and I have been listening to country -westen music since I was two. When I was three/ four I knew all the words to “King Of The Road”- I am also black,Catholic, city- dweller,Conservative and a homosexual so I hope I bring at least an interesting viewpoint to the conversation.
On to Josh Turner. I love his voice and look, but “Firecracker” reminds of his other song ” Me and God”- it is so simple that it last like cotton candy- the depth only coms from his voice and not his music. I hope he finds a musical place where his voice and the song are worthy of each other and just not radio and video friendly.

Josh Turner is a class act, enough said!

I think you literally have no clue what country music really is. He is absolutely one of the only artists in country music today that is pure country. Everyone else is starting to move towards a more rock sound. He ranks right up there with George Straight and Alan Jackson for true country sound. I have all his albums and think he has a voice that is one of a kind and could make any woman’s heart melt. He not only sounds great on his albums, but in concert too. Most artists sound horrible live, but not Josh Turner. He sounds so good and his new album is going to be his best album, yet. It is a great one, trust me, well worth every penny. He is going to go far in the country music industry, he not only has his fans, his people, but God backing him. I love everything about this man and his music. He really appeals to the Backwoods Girl in me. I think it is about time we put some country back in country music and start leaving out the pop, rock, R & B, and rap out of the country people’s music. He brings it to the front and I love that about him. He is great and Firecracker was a perfect start to put this new album out there.

While I could live without this fluffy song, there’s no doubt that Josh Turner is, in fact, “country.” Perhaps not your type of country, which is fine, but he is decidedly country, or traditional, to choose a better word.
