John Rich Will Debut Rally Anthem For Presidential Candidate Today

Those retouched album covers at Photocrap are a real hoot! The Emily West cover is by far my favorite and all the album titles prove the person doing them has good taste in country music! (lol)

I’m not sure any candidate would want an endorsement from John Rich, but McCain needs all the publicity he can get these days…

The “Dressing Kellie Pickler” page is perfectly targeted at the new core of airhead country fans, young girls. The “Jamey Johnson at the pool table” coloring website was at least geared towards adults and a whole lotta fun.

John Rich is such a douche. I won’t be shocked when the song does for McCain’s campaign what his mistaking Iraq bordering Pakistan did for his International policy savvy.

Actually, I’m seeing Kellie Pickler in her underwear appealing more to teenage boys. Ew. Now I don’t want to think about that anymore.

Poor John McCain, his campaign just can’t catch a break.

If I were McCain I’d both reject and denounce John Rich right away.

I expected to hate the song but looked passed my personal preferences on politics and listened to it. For pure campaign purposes the song works. And I kind of liked it (sad but true). That being said, I hardly think I’ll be “Rockin’ it on my ipod”

I guess the republicans finally figured out that they shouldnt use “born in the usa” anymore, huh?

I bet the Pickler dress-up doll knows how to spell better than the real-life version.

Speaking of Carrie Rodriguez, I’m seeing her perform tomorrow night at McCabe’s Guitar Shop in the People’s Republic of Santa Monica. Her husband will be performing with her and his name is Javier Vercher, so is he related to the Brady & Brody founders of The 9513? Hmmm….

The Obama campaign song by Ludacris was far more honest and catchy and should not have been dissed by the Obama folks….

Sugarland’s sales have been fantastic though and its nice someone, anyone has displaced Taylor Swift from the # 1 country slot for at least a little while. Becuase “All I Want To Do-Ooo-Ooo-Ooo-Ooo-Ooo” has a huge airhead country appeal factor rating, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of young girls bought both CDs while shopping with Mom at Target…

The revised captions on those album titles are a scream precisely because they are so informed. They say the best humor is rooted in the truth, and I think you’ve nailed it on those album covers. In spite of how shallow most (not all) mainstream country music is these days the artists themselves and their dedicated fans seem to take it far too seriously as if its really significant somehow. Intelligent humor used to be a mainstay of country music with artists like Roger Miller and Bobby Bare. Now we get Brad Paisley singing cute and trite little ditties that seem thematically repetitive. Thank you for returning some quality humor to the realm of mainstream country music!

Don’t get wound up about any celebrity endorsements. Ultimately show business endorsements are of very little importance in swaying elections results. Most American’s live in the “real” world and quite aware that the “real” world is a place rarely visited by most high profile persons in the entertainment business.

Barbara Streisand, Tom Selleck, Tim McGraw, John Rich and the Dixie Chicks can endorse whomever they wish, it simply won’t make any difference to the final election results. The American people are too smart for that - they will look at the candidates, consider how the candidates positions square with their own beliefs, and vote accordingly.

Want proof ? Go back over the historical record and you’ll find that the great majority of entertainment celebrities endorse Democrats yet the actual election results are a mixed bag of Democratic and Republican victories

just for fun, go to that kellie pickler dress page and put ALL the clothes on her. THEN you can slowly (or quickly, depending on your fantasy) remove the clothes piece by piece. it’s awesome.
