I do not like his voice at all! And two of his songs he released not too long ago. Measure of a Man and That’s A Man sounded like the same song! I just don’t see or here the greatness of him that all of you do…sorry!

I always enjoy Jack’s interviews and appearances on GAC far more than listening to his music. He’s an interesting guy to be sure and his interview answers rise above the typical “piffle and twaddle” level. Hey, when will he be releasing his next cover of another “Hinder” song? (lol)

PS – Thanks to Jack I discovered the music of “The Woody’s” and I will always be grateful to him for that.

The 2008 Top Male Vocalist honor was actually from the ACM, not the CMA. Good interview—Jack is a really thoughtful guy.

I like Jack being who he is and sticking to who he is. I don’t doubt for a minute that he is doing exactly what he wants to do, as opposed to what people are telling him to do.

However, I was taken aback that his “friends he has met up and down the road” include Little Big Town, The Lost Trailers, Randy Houser, James Otto, Jed Hughes. That’s a bit depressing.

I will be seeing Jack again in September at Joe’s and i am looking forward to the new album coming out tomorrow. I do like his older material better because i like that rougher edge to the music that most Texas musicians are able to exude. His new music is different, its more polished, maybe he doesn’t notice that because the production work has gotten better and smoothed it all out. I heard that he delayed the release of “Big dreams and High Hopes” so that he could “rock it up” a bit and try to make it a little edgier” either way i still like his music and love his live show, he is a great entertainer with a fantastic band.

i wish jack nothing but the best. but i do miss the days of “attitude and driving” and “flutter”. and i’m glad i still have two copies of live at adairs since it seems to be out of print.

While I will likely always prefer his earlier work to his more recent work, I have enjoyed what I have heard form the new album (my least favorite tunes have been the 2 singles actually). I dont blame him for shooting for success on a bigger stage than what he had in Texas. He gave it a shot and became a regional favorite, more than paid his share of dues and still wanted something more and different for his career. While I pine for the “old jack” sometimes, I cant help but wish him luck.
