From the bio:
…and plenty of reason to stop for a moment to dig in his heels and take a stand.

That’s exactly what the Texas-bred troubadour does on his second Lost Highway album, Roadhouse Sun, a hardscrabble collection that’s at once unblinkingly personal and unapologetically political – the latter a new and bracingly vivid addition to Bingham’s palette. The expanded consciousness bursts to the surface of several cuts on Roadhouse Sun – nowhere more movingly than on “Dylan’s Hard Rain”, a stark look into the darker corners of an America in which the storm its namesake sang of has blown through.

I don’t like this album quite as much as Mescalito, but it’s still pretty damn good, especially while Amazon has it discounted.

I think I like it better actually. It just seems more focused. I will say that its nowhere near a country record, as Mescalito was for the most part…

I just listened to it. The political crap was stupid. Was he taking philosophy classes at the junior college? He sounds more and more like a copycat.

I think Ryan Bingham is the most over-rated guy in the world! His lyrics are moronic. If you look up cliche in the dictionary, it has a definition…and it describes his act and his BS songs perfectly. I want to puke over how many people are fawning over this hack. The words in this comment are more meaningful and deep than anything Bingham has ever written.

I disagree profoundly. While he is no Townes Van Zandt, he is also no Carrie Underwood or Rodney Atkins. While the second album was not as strong as the first, I found good moments on it. Plus I give him major props for also being from New Mexico.
