Miley Cyrus, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton & Billy Ray Cyrus

My favorite duet partner for Dolly was Porter Wagoner and my favorite song is “Just Someone I Used To Know”. That song has stood the test of time as one of the greatest male & female country duets ever recorded!

Easily Porter Wagoner, in fact, I have always considered Porter & Dolly the best country duet ever, followed distantly by ET & Loretta and others

It’s hard to pick a favorite, as they did so many great songs, but “Daddy Was An Old Time Preacher Man” or “Run That By Me (One More Time)” are as good as any

I also choose Porter Wagoner, but my favorite duet she did was actually her I will Always Love You with Vince Gill. For some reason, that version always gets me.

I love a lot of Dolly’s duets, but my favorite would have to be the 12th of Never with Keith Urban…Dolly’s voice is timeless, and has such a sweet quality to it, and her and Keith seem to have so much fun when they have played together at events!

I have to agree I love a lot of her duets with Porter – but my favorite has to be When I Get Where I Am Going w/ Brad Paisley, just because it came out at a time in my life when I needed that song….

It pains me to be like the majority, but I have to support my fellow Virginian, Ricky Van Shelton and his modern-day classic with the indelible Ms.Parton, “Rockin’ Years”. It will be my wedding song, although my boyfriend doesn’t know it yet. :) Would love to go to Dollywood again! There’s magic in those mountains!

    June 22, 2010 at 8:23 am

My favorite Dolly duet would be The Best Woman Wins with Lorrie Morgan. And These Old Bones is really not a duet but I love the way Dolly sings in her voice and also the voice of the old lady. When combined it is truly great!!!

Dolly is great with whomever she is paired! That’s why “Romeo” was so fantastic. As if Dolly’s vocals weren’t enough, she was enhanced by 80s and 90s powerhouses Kathy Mattea, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Pam Tillis, and Tanya Tucker…oh and we can’t forget the song’s protagonist…Billy Ray! This is one song that is sure to bring a smile to your face and spring in your step. In the words of Mattea, “Shakespeare would roll over in his grave!”
