Texas Alert! Tonight’s “Opry Country Classics” show has the theme “A Salute To The Great State of Texas” and will feature Mel Tillis, Gene Watson, Billy Yates, Emily West and Justin Moore along with some Opry Legends. I’m sad to report Justin Moore will not be performing “I Could Kick Your Ass” in spite of it being a perfect Texas song! (lol) Maybe if he changed the chorus to “I could kick your ass if you mess with Texas…”

I guess that George Jones and Willie Nelson are proof that its better to be a long term pot smoker than hard drinker.
Good to see a mention of Sunny Sweeney’s BFF Brennen Leigh.

Brennen Leigh is really great. Super talented singer, charismatic performer, good songwriter, and nice person. She has a new record coming out soon, here’s hoping it gets the attention it deserves.

And thanks for the link to Lisa’s review, she wrote an excellent piece.

Willies voice is just amazing. It’s the same today as it was then. Those piercing eyes are the same too..now the rest has sure changed. But then possibly, age hasn’t been too bad for Willie as he may be taking it all in with a puff of….

Wow Ben, you sound like a bona fide Brennen Leigh Fanboy! Is this partially because she did that nice duets album with Jesse Dayton? Hmm… (lol)
