I reckon that Brooks has enough tucked away that bankrolling a project that involved importing folks to Oklahoma over - or even for - a 6 month period would be within the realm of possibility. And Allen Reynolds doesn't appear to be too busy these days, so that probably wouldn't be an issue. But studio guys are studio guys in large part because they like to sleep in their own beds. And their personal business models are built around availability; going away for an extended period of time, or even intermittently but frequently for the same, means foregoing a lot of other work and lowering their profiles. You can make up financially for the missing sessions by paying them more, but you can't mitigate the negative impact on their long-term prospects; the producers move on down their call lists, and the player may never hear from them again - at least, that's the fear that virtually every session player has virtually every time he turns down a job. And that's the real problem that would have to be dealt with.

Darn-it anyway, Garth Brooks tickets are $125. How the heck are we supposed to afford that?

Daughtry performing on the CMA's is just what the awards show needs! Just like the VHI Hip Hop Honors needs George Strait to rap one of their hits for them. Taylor and Carrie wasn't enough to promote the show and draw in viewers, we need a rock band to lure in views to country music's biggest night.

The thing that makes me agree with Jon on Garth is that it's no secret that Garth is very intense/perfectionist, including when it comes to recording albums. So, I wonder if the logistics of bringing his favorite musicians to record in Oklahoma would just be too much trouble to outweigh the benefit for whoever bank rolls the project. Garth is likely very aware of his perfectionist tendencies and may not want to even go there.

Alert: Rosanne Cash will be a featured musical guest on this Saturday's (October 17) "A Prairie Home Companion"! I'm really looking forward to this and its even worth enduring Garrison Keillor's nauseating fawning over Chairman Mao Tse Obama....

"Pretty sure the musicians and producer would come to him."

I wouldn't be - I mean, I wouldn't rule it out, but it's not exactly a simple proposition, especially if you're talking about taking 6 months to cut an album.
