I first became a Doug Sahm fan back in the 1960′s when The Sir Douglas Quintet had rock radio hits with “She’s About a Mover” and “Mendocino”. What those singles lacked in sound quality they made up for with infectious energy.

The Lovell Sisters performance on Music Fog is excellent. Its just a shame the sound quality isn’t better. I don’t think the foam windscreen is really needed on the vocal mic since they are inside a motorhome. Hmm….

Its obvious Kevin Coyne’s worst singles of the decade list should have should have an asterisk leading to a note in parentheses that says (From an Obamavoter’s viewpoint). If Kevin loves illegal aliens from Mexico so much, he’s welcome to come to California and take a few million of them back to his home state…..

Chris Neal’s 3.5 star rating for The Hot Club of Cowtown’s “Wishful Thinking” is about right, and that’s a shame. The band is capable of so much more! Darn….

The Wrinkle Neck Mules sound like a musical goulash stew of Americana’s most celebrated roots rock and red dirt style artists such as Chris Knight. I can clearly understand why Kelly D. likes them and why I don’t…

Nickelback really aren’t that big on the rock formats these days. They’ve only had one number one in about three years.

I’d say that the most popular rock group right now is Shinedown.
