When I asked Rory in my interview with the duo if The Life of a Song was the album he wanted to make, he responded by saying: “We got to make the album everybody wants to make.” Clearly, it’s a project that he’s very proud of–and rightly so, as the critical response so far has been outstanding.

The9513.com reader PaulaW recently shared her sentiments on the album by claiming it was the “Best money I’ve ever spent.”

For the latest edition of our Free Music series, The 9513 is hooking you up with an opportunity to win a signed copy of the album.

Here’s a video of Joey + Rory singing “Cheater Cheater” on CMT’s Can You Duet

It’s funny because I am single right now, but if I caught my perspective gf cheating on me I would break it off on the spot. I’ve had my share of sore relationships and they never recover. I’d probably actually write a song about it and spill it in a performance like Kristy Lee Cook’s song “15 Minutes”.

As far as Joey and Rory, I believe they should have won the compatition hands down. I mean they have an album out already and where are the winners??? I’ve heard maybe one update on their progress sense being named the winners.

haha! I did pretty much that very same thing that the song says. Except I didnt tell him to pack up all his stuff and get out of my house. I packed it for him (one big box) and when he came home from work he picked it up and left. He pretty much got his clothes and that was it. Oh, I did give him a broken record player and his black and white tv! LOL.

I bought this record a couple of day ago, but I would LOVE to have an autographed copy.

I love every single song on here, but I think my favorite is Rodeo. My son loves Boots and Free Bird. My daughter’s favorite is Cheater Cheater. We’ve all been listening to the whole thing all weekend. In fact, I have it playing here at work now.

I’d like to think I was the kind of person who would be self-assertive in that situation, but when it happened to me, first I was too naive and refused to believe the person who told me my ex was spending too much time with another woman; until he actually left me for her. I was too upset to say anything much to him, beyond crying. I cried pretty much nonstop for far too long (and wasted a lot of time thinking about all the things I could have said).

I’d break it off right away, there’s no reason to continue if they’re cheating.

I also thought they should’ve won but it’s good they didn’t as Sony hasn’t done anything with Caitlin & Will yet.

But, she broke up with me (by note, to top it off)

I’d love to get a autographed retail copy as the early advance copy I purchased has absolutely no information other than the song titles and doesn’t even have a picture! Sheesh! I like every song on this CD but my favorites are “Tune of a Twenty Dollar Bill” and “Boots”, both of which are superb country songs expertly performed. This CD definitely ranks in my Top 5 favorite CD purchases of 2008 thus far and may just be # 1.

I got to see the Overstock.com commercial featuring Joey and Rory on TV this weekend and its about as folksy and family oriented as it can be. Sure beats a pretty gal in a sexy dress speaking breathily about “The Big O” for us family values types…..

PS – The Joey + Rory release of “Cheater, Cheater” threw a monkey wrench in Bomshel’s planned release of their version as a radio single in mid-October. Here’s what the winsome Kristy O. had to say about that in a recent blog:
“Alrighty Bomsquad… Here’s the scoop. We kind of shot ourselves in the foot in a really good way. So, we had turned in the three sides to Curb, and they were going with Cheater as a single October 15th… BUT turns out Joey and Rory decided to release it ahead of us. Cool beans. We started turning in other sides, and every song we have turned in, CURB wants it as the new single. Even Cooler beans! (This also means we are writing and working on production of a BUNCH of new songs.) Soooooo… they have pushed our release back to January for us to get the album done, finished, finalized, completed, wrapped, and delivered:) and we will all sit down and decide which single exactly we are going with to launch (the New) Bomshel.”

Thankfully I’ve never been in that situation. I’d like to think that I’d go all “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” on him but it would probably be more like “Tear in My Beer”.

    Love this song though!

Me and my buddies would get together at the apartment while she was out and by the time she got back all her possessions would be outside on the curb. As for me, I’d be inside with my buddies listening to my Cheatin’ Playlist I made on iTunes. “Cheater, Cheater” would certainly be on it.

First, I just have to say, if my husband of 30 years cheated on me, I think my first reaction would be shock that he actually got off the couch to do something!

I would love to win an autographed copy of Joey + Rory’s “The Life of a Song”. I love everything about this CD! There’s not a single track on it that isn’t special. I know it will be a favorite for a long time to come (along with Joey’s “Strong Enough to Cry” CD).

Why do I love Joey and Rory? For their authenticity. They have brought something back to Country music that has been missing for a long time–true talent. And it’s not just Joey’s amazing, smokey voice or Rory’s straight from the heart lyrics that makes them so appealing-it’s their obvious and abiding love for each other. There is something absolutely magical about the two of them together, something true and rare–as one reviewer put it: “J+R have brought romance back to Country music”.

Lastly, I was fortunate to meet and talk to Joey and Rory recently at a busy day at Marcy Jo’s, and they were as down to earth and warm as they appear on camera. Somehow I just know that no matter how high their star may soar, these two will always stay true to their fans, their music, and each other.

Mixed reactions on the cheatin’ question. Depending on circumstances and depth of the love, I’d have to start with trying to forgive (which means forget). If it was a habitual occurrence, that disputes the ‘deep love’ aspect and I’d have to leave the relationship. No violence, but firmly believe in ‘what goes around, comes around’ to take care of the cheater.

Six years ago, I actually did catch my ex-fiance cheating on me. I caught him in the act and punched him (knocking him backwards…little did he know when he taught me how to sucker punch that it would be used on him)and told him that I wanted my house key back because he was out of my house. I then proceeded to come home and took every article of clothing that he had and cut everything up, placed it in his car and took the car up the street and left it running with the keys in. I also took everything else he owned, like tools, his X-Box, etc and smashed it and threw it outside. I think that Carrie Underwood got her ideas about what to do with a cheating man from me!

I have been a fan of Joey + Rory since day one of Can You Duet. When other duos were broken up and paired with someone else at the beginning of the season, Joey + Rory said that they wouldn’t consider being split up. This proved to me then that they weren’t looking to sacrifice each other in order to make it big.

Although Naomi Judd’s favorite duo on the show, they were voted off but still prevailed in my opinion. I’m excited about this record and hope this is the beginning of a successful run for them.

Well, where do I start. on May 6, I want to put a new insurance card in my wifes car, on removal of the old one, a very explicit love letter feel out from another man to her..Now understand, we’ve been married for 3 years and have a year and a half year old baby girl. So, i walked in, her back was to me and she was on the computer. I stood behind her and started reading her love letter, she didn’t budge, all she said is…and I quote…oh, that’s nothing. Needless to say I said to her very calmly that if it’s nothing then you wouldn’t mind if I gave it to your parents. she said nothing, so I left for the in-laws gave them the letter and they were devistated. After that I found out he was married with 3 kids. I made a copy and met with his very sweet wife and handed her the letter.. Bottom line is, both she and I filed for divorce together. And now all I’m waiting to do is start my life over.Anyway hope you liked my story..I love you guys, your music is incredible. Keep up the great, Hope i win your cd, it would make my year… :-)

I have had the misfortune of catching more than one lover cheating in my time. One time I even caught one man on a romantic picnic with a you know what; so I just plopped down, ate their lunch and read her a song I had written about her. Then asked when they were getting married? They both seemd very surprised by the answer the other one gave!!! Made my day! I got rid of him and they didn’t last even the summer. So this song was really special to me when I heard it on television the first time. I taped it, copied out the words and have been singing it around the house for months. Way to go Corey and Rory. I hope I am lucky enough to win the cd since I haven’t always been lucky in love. Jnet

Cheating isnt a capital offence, Occasional Hope, but it shows a lack of respect for yourself, your family and especially your mate.
“White trash ho”is much nicer than anything I would call both of them. Only trashy, low lifes with no morals do it. I don’t care what their social or financial status is. Animals can’t control themselves – people can.

Don’t come back home! Divorce is in the making. And that is what I did. DIVORCED his low down stickin ass. And she was TRASH. Go figure it didn’t last three months.
