Free Music Download: Honeyhoney – “Slow Brains”

The 9513’s Jim Malec recently profiled new Ironworks Records duo Honeyhoney, whose sound draws from Country, Folk and Pop influences. “Slow Brains,” from the duo’s debut album First Rodeo, showcases lead singer Suzanne Santo’s Banjo work, and we’ve teamed up with our friends at Ironworks and Universal Music to offer the track free for download.
“Like Amy Winehouse fronting a jazz-influenced country band, Honeyhoney’s debut is a diverse offering of twang, swagger, swing, and stomp. Vocalist Suzanne Santo sings with a neo-soul croon that owes as much to the saloon as the nightclub, cracking one minute and lapsing into an elegant vibrato the next. [...] First Rodeo covers a good deal of ground, yet its appeal never suffers at the expense of its diversity. [...] A uniquely engaging, promising debut.”
–Andrew Leaheyl, All Music Guide, for Billboard.com

The fetching Suzanne Santo has definitely beguiled the men of The 9513! Can’t say I blame you….. Now if she would just clean up that potty mouth! She reminds me of Jennifer Nettles from her JNB days. Sheesh.

Suzanne is NOT like Amy Winehouse.. Obviously whoever said that didnt really listen to the album. It’s nothing like her. In fact she is way better than Amy.
