There are so many good artists that get over-looked for awards. Gary Allan, Phil Vassar, and Blake Shelton are a few examples.

PS – Randy Travis is one of my all-time favorites.

Chris and I may not see eye to eye on political matters, but I couldn’t have said this better myself. Ashton and Jamey had active single and album releases during the qualification period (I think?), so should have been absolutely included. Sarah’s last single (prior to the new “Space”) was “That Kind of Day” back in early 2007, so she’s been on the shelf awhile but still fully deserving of a nomination. These are three of my absolute favorite singer-songwriters currently active on major Nashville labels and I’m thrilled to see them gain airplay and recognition in a mostly pop-schlock medium these days.

I think “In Color” from Jamey Johnson shoud’ve been been nominated for single and song of the year. Also, I think that Ashton Shepherd, Luke Bryan, and Chuck Wicks should’ve replaced Jason Aldean, Rodeny Atkins, and Kellie Pickler in the “New” Artist category.
