Sierra Hull

Postby Drew on September 27th, 2008, 4:19 pm

I've been getting more into Bluegrass lately, and one lesser known artist whose album who caught my attention was 16 year old Sierra Hull's "Secrets". She's a mandolin player, and a real good one at that. Anybody else heard her music?

Sierra is indeed a fine mandolin picker. However, she's not a particularly good vocalist (relative to what is expected of female bluegrass artists).

She reminds me vocally of the very young Alison Krauss, so there's hope for her, I think.

Vocals are subjective. I think she's pretty good. And I really don't like Krauss' voice.

I have a couple of tracks I downloaded off the album and really like them.
