All things country!

Postby indulgedcountrymusic on April 17th, 2010, 11:23 pm

The 2010 ACM Awards are almost here! I'm so excited! :D

Miranda Lambert won Video of the Year for "White Liar" And I really hope she wins more awards on the actual show, too

Miranda's "The House That Built Me" is the show's opening performance, and Laura Bell Bundy's gonna perform "Giddy On Up" ! 8-)

You missed Miranda Lambert's amazing "THTBM" performance and her sweep of Female Vocalist and Album of the Year, and Reba's performance of "I Keep on Lovin' You," and the last Brooks & Dunn performance then :P

Miranda was average at best... sounded grainy and much worse than Carrie vocally. Brooks & Dunn's performance certainly wasn't memorable either.

Well I don't care for them, but I know some people 'round here like 'em

I think on the The 9513 ACMs Blog, one of the ladies' made a comment that they looked like they were trying to resist the urge to kill each other... which sums it up pretty well

To quote the scholarly opinions of Bolter & Grusin:

The traditional "musical" qualities of these productions, never very complicated, became progressively less important than the volume and variety of sound and the visual spectacle.

Good to see theory in practice.
