Mr. Harvey, you make me happy once again...damn, how many times can we rave about this song and album?

Honestly, the first time I heard the album, I didn't really like it, but after hearing so much great stuff about it here, I gave it another try, and I love it!

And Razor X, thanks for clearing up the "lush" question. xD

awesome. Glad to hear that. There is only a handful of albums that I can say are as good or better then smoke rings

I'm seeing things that I never thought I'd see
You've opened up eyes inside of me
How long have you been doing this to me
I'm seeing sides of me that I can't believe

Someway somehow I'll make a man of me
I will build me back the way I used to be
Much stronger now the second time around cause
What can you do to me now

... Willie is the master of one-line masterpieces.

You were like my mother
You were my best friend
You were everything I want to be
And all the good inside of me
There’s never been
Never been another
That loved me like you did
My grandmother, my angel

But I lit my first and watched a small kid
Cussin at a can that he was kicking
Then I crossed the empty street
And caught the sunday smell of someone fryin chicken
And it took me back to somethin
That Id lost somehow somewhere along the way

Amazing all the progress we've made since the days of Thomas Edison
Still only God gives life in spite of modern medicine
Doctor's voices whispered we did all that we could do
But your baby wasn't strong enough
To make it the whole nine months
And as my world broke in two
He said I'll carry you through to Love Land

Anything from Holly Williams' album was good but I particulary liked this verse.

Everybody's waiting for me to fall
You criticize my walk as I watch you crawl
Nothing's ever fair
But I believe in reality everywhere
Those who dance are considered insane by those who can't hear the music.

She put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make it worth watching.

"Everytime" by Britney Spears - and written beautifully by Britney while on tour in Germany

Everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings I feel so small
I guess I need you baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, it’s haunting me
I guess I need you baby

This song is my favorite -- a lyrical masterpiece

IF we are going to go to the pop tarts place:

In our family potrait
We look pretty happy
We look pretty normal
Can't we go back to that.

Also:
You fight about money
About me and my brother
And this I come home
This is my shelter

Also:
Distasters all around
A world of despair
Their only concern
WILL IT F* UP MY HAIR!!

Also:
Your in the corner with your boys, you bet 'em 5 bucks
You'll get the girl who just walked in but she thinks you suck
We didn't get all dressed up just for you to see
So quit spilling your drink on me
Yeah I know who you are
High five'n, talkin' s*
But you're going home alone, aren't ya?

Also:
But I'm not every girl and I don't need that world to validate me
Cause Shorty got a job, Short got a car and Shorty can pay her own rent.

Pink is one of those rare artists that seems to share a fan-base with country artists whose music is as far removed from country as anything could be. Love the 'Family Portrait' song as well as 'Dear Mr. President' (lyrical perfection ).

Pink isn't that far off of country music. Her music is completely different, but she deals with a lot of the same themes.

If I only had one ear to listen
To the lies that you told to me
Then I would more closely resemble
The half a man that you made of me

My legs and my feet have walked till they can't hardly move from trying to please you.
And my back is sore from bending over backwards, to just lay the world at your door.
And I'm trying hard to put a smile on a sad face while deep down it's breaking my heart.
And as sure as the sun shines, I'll be a lifetime not knowing if I've done my part.

Definitely one of my top 5 Martina songs. Just the emotion and story in that song is amazing!

Here's another favorite:

The boy says, "my daddy's a strong man
My momma, she loves him
And they love my brother and sister and me
Sometimes at night we lay out in the backyard
And take turns wishing on the first star we see"

"And the crickets always sing outside the windows
And I love to feel the wind blow through the screen
And I sure hope that we can live forever
In this house of a thousand dreams"

"Yeah I sure hope that we can live forever
In this house of a thousand dreams"

The entirety of Hank Williams' "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, but especially:

I've never seen a night so long
When time goes crawling by
The moon just went behind a cloud
To hide its face and cry

and
The silence of a falling star
Lights up a purple sky
And as I wonder where you are
I'm so lonesome I could cry

Absolutely poetic.

Where do you turn, where do you go
When you've finally reached the end of the road
How do you say it - I just don't know
When it comes to leavin', you're on your own

He was walking across a wire
Holding a loaded gun
Taking out every lightbulb one by one
She was building brand new walls
To keep her safe inside
Sometimes a place to live is just a place to hide

All of the song "Somebody Said a Prayer"

Somebody said a prayer
Somebody had some faith
Somebody finally hit their knees and asked for help
For heaven's sake
Somebody finally found someone who really cares
Somebody said a prayerrrr....
