myspace pet peeve

Off-topic and miscellaneous discussion not pertaining to country music.

I hate hate hate it when artists have so much crap on their myspace that the actual music player takes forever to load. Seriously, all you artists out there, know why I go to your myspace? to listen to your music. make it easy!

p.s. - Emily West, I'm looking at you.

Ben - I have that same gripe with artits websites as well as their myspace. I want to read your latest news - find your concert / appearance schedule - and hear some music. I prefer that music and photos NOT be on the main page so the site will load quickly on days that I only want your news and schedule.

As for myspace - I hate the ones that have so many pics on there that I have to scroll two miles to get to their "about me" or to the comment section, should I be so inclined to leave them one.

Forget artists who do that...how about the regular people who do it? Hint: if I'm not willing to wait for a major label recording artist's page to load, I'm certainly not willing to wait for your page to load all the media that you did not create.

It might be yesterday's news, but it's still the best and most inexpensive way to listen to artists' music you've never heard of.

to me myspace is yesterdays news

the only reason i get on it these days it to listen to music that I don't feel like paying for yet ( gas ain't cheap y'all)

its funny though when you get messages from people you haven't talked to in... oh say 7 or 8 years and to find out what they are up to you have to wade through a 2min load process because all the crap they have on their page

It's almost like someone's inviting them.

This 'shuf' ID has already made 16 posts today ... and I think some of these people in here promoting UMG artists are here for the same purpose.

Maybe they were deleted before I had a chance to read them.

I believe that they were simply buried under more interesting topics, rather than deleted

Only a few people got suspicious, but the actually threads were pretty normal in appearance so it couldn't be confirmed whether they were advertisees or not

They were advertisements. And they were all about how great the Eli Young Band is. The poster admitted to being affiliated with UMG even.
