"Cheater, Cheater" Remix?

All things country!

Postby indulgedcountrymusic on November 29th, 2008, 12:42 am

I dunno what spawned this idea, but Joey+Rory have put up a remix of the song on their MySpace: www.myspace.com/joeyandrory

It's called the King Mix

You'll have to listen to it to understand the true bizarreness

It's like they tried to go hip-hop :?

I kinda liked it. I couldnt understand all the things being said in the background, my daughter had to interpret for me, but overall I thought it was kinda cute.

Just further proof that just because you can f*** up your own song, it doesn't mean that you should.

Of all the people in country music to remix their song like that, it was Joey+Rory

It's the end of the world! <curls up in corner>

Oh geez! Lighten up! They're just having some fun! I really doubt they have any intentions of ever putting out a techno record, but that song is perfect for what they did to it.

Speaking of techno ... earlier today my daughter and I were listening to a classic country station, and they played George Jones' "Her Name Is" .... and we commented to each other how techno was in country even "way back then".

This song is freakin' awesome, I don't know why they remixed it to start with... but a remix this bad should be outlawed

I sure hope this version does nothing more than a spot on their MySpace tracklist

But if they re-release the album with this as a bonus track or release this remix version like Taylor does hers to pop stations :o .... oh boy

This has got to be the first techno-remix in Sugar Hill Records' history.

They're playing around, it's not like it's being sent to radio as a Christmas remix. Yes, it's slightly abominable, but it's certainly not the end of the world.

They're releasing a song that would make the baby Jesus cry as a Christmas remix? Oh man, I wouldn't want to be standing around Joey or Rory in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Rory mentioned this to me when we first talked. They just think it's fun. Nothing more, nothing less. They have a "Sleigh Bell Mix" released to country radio, a cute way to keep "Cheater Cheater" played during the holiday season.

How much mileage do they expect to get out of this one song? Don't they have a new song they can release?

It's on their MySpace now instead of the hip-hop remix

I'm gonna go listen to it in a sec here, hopefully it is better
