Top Tens: Tim McGraw

Postby LittleSable on August 10th, 2008, 12:44 pm

10. Indian Outlaw - Horribly politically incorrect, but it just sounds so cool
9. Maybe We Should Sleep on it Tonight
8. If You're Reading This
7. She'll have You Back
6. Don't Take the Girl
5. Between the River and Me
4. Shotgun Rider - Number 4 and 5 were so much better than the singles from the last album
3. Just to See You Smile
2. The Cowboy in Me
1. Red Ragtop - That song took major guts to release.

10. Telluride - This song is also on Josh Gracin's new album. I think it is a absolutely perfect winter Hit if anyone ever released as a single.

9. Blank Piece of Paper - Beautiful song. So well written, and cleve. Takes the point of view of a blank piece of paper.

8. I Like It, I Love it - Classic Tim Mcraw.

7. I Need You - Love this song. So powerful.

6. For a Little While - Another classic Mcgraw song. Believe it or not, I actually like Phil Vassar's version better.

5. Everywhere

4. Red Ragtop - Just a wonderful story song, and an incredibly unqie melody.

3. Where the Green Grass Goes

2. Why We Said Goodbye - An album cut, but one of my favorite McGraw songs. it is TEN times better then the BUddy Jewell version.

1. Just to See you Smile - A Country Music classic.

10. Seventeen - Tim's take on the overused "it's good to be a teenager" idea, but just a real catchy song!
9. My Best Friend - Again this is definitely an overdone theme, but a great chorus and overall lyrically solid.
8. I Need You - Technically a Tim & Faith duet, but just a real powerful song and I love the background sound through the song.
7. Somebody Must Be Praying For Me - My favorite unreleased Tim song, love the lyrics and the sincerity of the performance.
6. If You're Reading This - Probably wouldn't be a top 10 for me just hearing it on the radio every day, and they definitely should've made a studio version, but taking into account that live performance and it has to be on here. One of the most powerful live performances I have or will ever see.
5. The Cowboy In Me - Awesome cowboy song that isn't overdone.
4. Live Like You Were Dying - Probably would be top 2 or 3 if it wasn't so overplayed, great song and awesome vocals.
3. Angry All The Time - Love the emotion and vibe to this song, great chorus and lyrics.
2. Please Remember Me - Just a great cover, probably Tim's best vocal performance.
1. Just To See You Smile - Like somebody else said, this is a classic. Love the background beat... heck I love all of it!

In no particular order, these tracks are all from his first five albums as I haven't heard any of his later music

Hard on the ticker
I do but I don't
My next thirty years
The trouble with never
I like it I love it
All I want is a life
It don't get any countrier than this
Give it to me Strait
Down on the farm
Don't take the girl
