OK, so I got myself a Rascal Flatts CD today

All things country!

Postby Rainbow on September 22nd, 2008, 11:52 am

I was at the record store yet again today, but not to buy anything, just to listen to some CD's I'm thinking about buying.
Anyways, the man who owns the store had recently ordered a shipment of "Still Feels Good", and he had recieved a few copies extra, so seeing as I'm his best customer (his words), he gave me a copy for free. I'm going to listen through it again (I listened to it once before when I was there), and I'll give you my thoughts on the whole CD eventually. I'm trying not to judge the Flatts too early, but it's.... hard.

I would never, EVER do that. But who knows, maybe this CD will turn me over to the dark side.

No - but if you love their music, you should be the first. Whether anybody else follows, who knows?

LOL That's what I was thinking.

I'm a sucker for free music though. That's the way Chuck Wicks made his way into my collection!?!?!

Does that album have "Ellsworth" on it? Or is that the album before that? That was actually a good song, I can't believe they didn't release it as a single.

It was from Me and My Gang (the one before it, like u said) -- it did chart from unsolicited airplay at #56

If that's what he does for his best customers, I'd hate to see what he does for the ones he doesn't like.

Rainbow obviously isn't very good at describing his musical tastes to others. Remember that his mother gave him a Taylor Swift CD for his birthday. Perhaps people are trying to wean him off Reba and Trisha?

Being that Rainbow is from Norway, perhaps his family associates anyone who is 'american country' as being what he'd like, given the overall lack of knowledge of them. It'd be like if I told my family to buy something that was UK Rock and getting a Westlife CD.

C'mon now - even a putrid band like Rascal Flatts has a few worthwhile songs scattered about. I've never purchased one of their CDs but a co-worker dubbed the most recent CD for me - it has about two good songs on it (but not "Bob That Head" is not one of them - it's horrible). Because the lead sing Gary LeVaux can actually sing (unlike most rock acts) occasionally one or two songs are destined to be okay

I wonder of they ever thought about teaming up with Randy Scruggs for an album - They could title it FLATTS AND SCRUGGS

I doubt that Randy Scruggs would want to risk the damage to his reputation by having anything to do with them. It's a sacrilege to even suggest it. ;)
